There’s a reason they reference Elton John…this song has a big “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” vibe. And that isn’t bad at all. It’s very, happy pop but it’s exactly what you’d expect from a BTS English, summer song written by Ed Sheeran after being locked down in a pandemic. Justin Timberlake did this a few years ago with “Can’t Stop the Feeling”. It’s nice to just smile and enjoy a happy song!!!

Justin's "CSTF" is what first came into my mind because of how the "PTD" MV had a similar vibe to it and I can definetly hear Ed's singing "da na na na na" but I would have never thought Ed wrote this, no wonder every line was so beautiful. I prefer this 100x more than Butter, it just gets me in a happy state and it goes well with what the majority of the world is going through in summer 2021. It's liberating.

Exactly and they say they’re just appeasing to the American audience for money like these dudes haven’t been doing fine without English songs. They don’t need it but they want it, whats wrong with that? A lot of them also say it’s the industry making them do this. People that have worked with bts countless times have said that they don’t ever put out a song they don’t like. It’s one of the reason why Bighit artists are at the top, because they are allowed to do what they want. I don’t see what’s so hard about ignoring the things you don’t like when it’s not harming anyone. You don’t like PTD that’s fine but to leave comments questioning their identity and authenticity is out of line.

Even the fans declare to not watch any colour coded lyrics or reaction videos before 24 hours of release. Many people don't follow that rule.

You know what makes me appreciate BTS are "Artists"? There ain't specific concept they stick to and the concept they are doing will revolve around the mentality that they have at the moment! Their debut was Hip hop inspired, more badass, rap focused songs, 2017-18 when they had the toughest time in their career, they told everyone to love themselves (Love yourself Era), when they were afraid to lose their love for music and were afraid that they will forget how they felt when they first made music (Map of the soul), Despite everyone being locked down and separated, Life Goes on (BE), and we have their English releases which are all fun, dance and more radio worth (Dynamite, Butter and PTD)! I'm more than proud of the BTS that I stan today!

I love the positivity in this song. After the pandemic and everything that has happened over the past 2 years we need to move forward! The best part to me is when they all take the masks off. Ed Sheeran actually co wrote this song, so you're on point there but the song is fire. They never disappoint. I love them no matter what. Us, Army's love them, they love us Army. Borahae.

I feel like this song is reinforcing the idea that "KPOp is for anyone" and a message could be* that if it's bop: it's a bop. You don't need permission to jam to a bop. To dance to a bop and just enjoy the music. This song was released on the day Army was created (the fan name, I believe [hence all the purple balloons, also with them flying to a majority of people showing that KPop and BTS specifically is reaching everyone]) so it's just BTS' reminder that they, like Big Hit's old motto, create music for healing and for good vibes.

The song is 100% in English. I don't think they're doing this to spread 'kpop is for everyone'. It's just BTS wanting to make a song which brings cheer during a time when everything is gloomy and spreading happiness worldwide. Not everything BTS does has to be linked to kpop

Since this mv had everything to do with Purple, somehow even with least lines in vocal line, Taehyung stood out because he's the creator of "I purple you". And the fact that Taehyung once said "I left a purple balloon in your dream. Look it up" to a army who couldn't sleep on weverse. THIS MV IS VISUAL EMBODIMENT OF THAT. When the PTD teaser dropped.. I didn't like the music I liked the vibe. But when the MV dropped.. The best way to describe is I felt warm. I was smiling all the time. The song made me feel everything is gonna be okay. I'm gonna be okay even if I fall sometimes. That's all PTD is to me. However I have no problem with other people not liking it. We all are entitled to our own music taste and opinion. It's okay if we don't like some songs of our favorite artist. At the end of the day we all have our comfort songs. For some, PTD isn't that song. For me, it is a feel good song. All listeners are entitled to like or dislike certain songs. But what isn't right is either hating the boys or hating others whose opinion doesn't match with us. So the bottom line is.. Yes, I personally loved PTD and I'll come back to it when I'll need a little pick me up from bad mood.

I've been listening to permission to dance on repeat since yesterday! The MV is so wholesome and it had the feeling of "togetherness" if that makes sense. It's such a feel-good, celebration song. Even the phrase "Cause we don't need permission to dance" in itself is so simple but powerful. Don't be afraid to dance and do things you enjoy doing. Don't let anyone else hold you back. OMG... Lou's energy throughout the whole video is my energy. I love this song so much more than Butter. Yes, Butter is amazing but this song is so beautiful, especially with the message its passing across. I bet those Armys that are saying they don't like this song would come back to like it. That was indeed one of my favorite bars of this song. It was altogether an amazing song. My spouse liked it better than butter due to all the symbolism with Army and the diversity. It was amazing.

The pure joy of the song, and them performing the song is so infectious. And on top of that, the use of American Sign Language with the chorus, so that more people can enjoy the song from the artists directly, and not just from reading the lyrics at the bottom of the screen. the only reason i liked Butter a teeeeeensy bit more than PTD is only because their voices are more clear in Butter. i wish the producers didn’t distort their voices so much in PTD. BUT with that being said, I do love this song sfm. the positive vibes make me feel so happy. our boys killed it as usual 🥰

Yeah, the English just keeps getting better each time. J-Hope's English was very good. But I can't wait to hear their new Korean lyrics too. Also, the entrance to the hallway in the school is an ARMY symbol w purple balloons inside. This video was incredible! And I love all the people shown dancing. They also represent ARMY. And did you see JKs amazing spin!

It's a good song. It brings happiness and hope. Something everyone needs rn. I've seen people hating on the boys and the song or leaving the fandom because of the song, that's sad. Yk once yoongi said that he likes Jimin's voice the most in BTS, it's of his taste and said he was not trying to compare who's better, he just personally likes jimin's voice more. Similarly the song ptd is not of my taste but I appreciate their hardwork and they gifted us this song so I'm gonna give something back in return by streaming it. Giving an opinion is okay but don't hate on them because you disliked it. If you live in a family and disagree with some things with the family members you sort it out or adjust with the situation, it's not like you leave your family. Same goes with this song. BTS has done so much for us but people are leaving them for just one song? The boys doesn't deserve that.
