Fun Fact: This song originally suppose to use the line 'I Need You Friend', but because it's not catchy so it change to 'I Need You Girl'. This will help describe the MV better as you can see that whenever the group is apart there are issues in life they have to deal with, but when they are together everything is ok. So most of the time when you see or hear 'Girl' in BTS MV they can be more than just a girl. Usually they are more of the symbolism to something else. Also as I mentioned before however vague the storyline is, the main theme with BTS continuous narrative is about the process of adolescence to adulthood and things they have to go through both good and bad in life e.g. RM stuck in a job that goes no where an he has no passion for it. He also has a subtle unhealthy addiction going on that develop from an innocent lolli pop of childhood into a corrupted cigarette of adulthood as you can see at 17:13 More Fun Fact: A the moment of making this MV BTS and Big Hit company is still very poor that the car you see in the MV belong to the company staff and they can't afford to hire an actual actors so they need to use their own staff in this MV. But this is the song that brought BTS first win in Korean music show and the ball of success started rolling from here. p.s. From this reaction I really feel like you two are a perfect pair because Kate seems to pick up the subtle reference better, while Josh may see things more the surface but hype things up so it's entertaining to watch. I can feel both of your passion in the the reaction. While Josh gives me an energetic flavour Kate gives me a cool calm but deep style. It's a perfect balance.

The Murisan's Family Vlogs when you guys do react to these you guys have to remember a lot of things.Bc everything is connected so try to remember as much as you can from the videos.Also the videos are really deep and some are cryptic and in some videos they use references to “god, angles, the apple”.So I don’t want to say to much but I’m just saying the music videos are great.

People also relate vs scene in fake love with the phone and how he called his hyung after he killed his dad. So he’s surrounded by the phones and the room says “save me” in vs scene and the flip is “I’m fine” bc it’s something we say when we really need saving… just like he was as well in the storyline sometimes .

Coz we have been confused for years...a bit less after the webtoon came out though but still...🤪

Overall the storyline is super dark And it just shows how different bangtan is to other boy groups They're not just your typical boy band

before i was so afraid telling me been depressed having thoughts just ending it ,, even result to self hard because physical pain is easier to understand than psychological pain .. i was so ashamed about that part of my life but then BTS help me to embrace it and share my story because i made it i survived that phase of my life .. and to those who are suffering depression hearing stories from people who really know and been there helps them a lot to fight for themselves ..

The song at the beginning is called Outro: love is not over, literally my favorite bts song! Y'all should definitely listen to it on your own time! Don't feel bad about not knowing about the story line/order of things. :) And don't let people tell you your theories are "wrong" because it's up to your interpretation! Remember that! You guys are gonna have so much fun at the concert, glad you found them when you did because I feel like it's a really special time to love bts. This huge tour they're going on is so awesome and I think they're finally going to realize even more how loved they are by armys around the world!

Every member has a serious problem. - RM finally fought with strangers during his work. - V finally killed his rude father towards his sister. -Jimin was always sick from trauma and was hospitalized. -Jhope had a narcolepsy (suddenly falling asleep in any condition) so he needed pills. - Jungkook and Suga suicide due to depression (brokenhome). - Jin changed himself for the girl he loved but was given the opportunity to travel and save himself and his friends from their misery. Some note worthy things in this on this mv without spoilers... -Kate you were right about the girl being V's sister, as you saw their dad was abusing her and V protected her by stabbing the him with a broken bottle. Remember this! It's a big part of his storyline arc -You also saw Jhope take all those pills and pass out on the highway, but the pills are not for depression or an attempt as you thought. He has a condition that you will soon learn about. -Suga set his room on fire while he was inside it. You were also right when you mentioned this connection to the fire next to Suga in the Fake love mv. (i was so proud of you lol) -Jimin was in an overflowing bathtub and appears to be furiously scrubing away at his skin, he also looked frustrated/depressed.......you also made the connection the water that flows into the room during Jimin's scene in Fake love -You saw Jungkook get hit by a car -You saw RM at the gas station(he works there). And the lollipop made a cameo lol -Jin with his petals mmmhhh............... Also you caught how together they are having fun playing at the rail-roads, camping, running around by the sea

People who don't know BTS: They are a typical boy-band with bubblegum pop music videos and their fans are 12 years old. ARMYs: *scoffs and goes back to trying to puzzle out a fictional alternate reality story-line spanning years, with very dark subjects*. These subjects like mental health etc are still mostly taboo in k-pop. The fact that BTS and their company BigHit not only touches on it in 1 song, but made it a large part of the continuing story-line, made me an even bigger fan. They also have other songs questioning (Korean) society (like Baepsae and Spring Day, you'll need to watch the explained videos to catch all the references). A lot of ARMYs write how BTS's music saved them, or helped them go through rough times. I'm glad to see how discovering and learning more about BTS give you 2 so much happiness. Purple you.

Jin has an important role in the storyline. Heps a time traveler who goes back in time trying to save the boys from tragedy. He got too into it that he didn't think about himself. At some point he commited suicide and went back in time. I think this is the whole idea of the love yourself series. It implies that Jin has to love himself in order to do what he wants to achieve that is saving the boys while finding his happiness

I Need U was what made me realise Suga is my bias. Those first notes of the intro give me chills every damn time.

I just wanna say, you are incredibly spot on when you predict that Jin is “going back in time” 👀

Can you imagine how long they've been leaving little snippets of the story sprinkled across their MVs? Omg the thought put into it

This is the first song I heard from BTS in 2015 which made me became an ARMY. I saw their performance at Mcountdown and it totally blew me away. The lyrics really touch my heart and from then on I knew this group is different from other groups which I had listen previously.

This is why I love watching you guys! A lot of reactors are confused by their music videos for the fact that they are unaware of the interwoven arcs around the whole Bangtan Universe. I think you're the only I've seen so dedicated into understading the BU. 💜💜💜

Just love how sweet and genuine you are. You may have experienced a lot in life but can see how you have become great role models for your daughters.

As what you have said, each of them have different struggles and they have to face it themselves but when they are together they forget about their problems and be seriously happy. And yes, the use of colors and tones are very well made and used for their videos. You can basically feel what they are trying to convey. For me, BTS came into my life when I was so down and so done with it. Learning about them, their music and performance got me together and be happy.

Actually, small spoiler from the BTS the notes novel, Jimin was actually at a hospital and the doctors would lock him in a room so he would run to the door and run back. After a while, he moved to another hospital room and the door was unlocked so he could run out if he wanted to but the same thing happened. He would run to the door and run back in the room. It's such an emo storyline and it's beautiful at the same time because (I shall not spoil further)😂😂

Since this was the beginning of the storyline which was released in 2015, you can imagine all the theories and confusion that army felt for YEARS when new videos would get released. The storyline just concluded this year so you can see its been something that we have been going crazy about for so long. i think thats why the army is so dedicated, because everytime a video is released, everyone would dive deep into every little thing, meaning, talking to one another, and making theories and basically trying to figure out what the whole story is. Its almost like a puzzle and it made everyone feel excited and a part of something.

Also one more thing, in the webtoon (another comment provided a link to it), spoiler again but Jin has the ability to rewind time and when he does so, the universe shatters like glass. And he has to relive that day again until everything turns out fine. So for my theory, euphoria is a repetition of I need you, prologue and run mvs together. Just a small personal theory so hopefully y'all won't be confused as u watch more mvs

basically this is like, whenever they’re together, it’s like their youth is overflowing. they’re happy and don’t care about their problems. but when they separate, they have to deal with their personal problems alone. rm is suffering with poverty, jhope is dealing with him getting abandoned by his mother when he was young, jungkook is upset because everyone is not together, suga has depression and wants to hurt himself with fire, jimin is trying to drown him, and v is dealing with his abusive father and him murdering him. jin is an important character because we never see him with those types of scenes. but it’s known that he tries to help the boys. i won’t spoil too much! but pls make more videos! i went to rose bowl last night and let me say, you won’t be disappointed when you go in your city!

I was a new ARMY when I saw this for the first time. I bawled my eyes out because at the time I thought that Jin had died and the rest fell apart because of it. Since then more info has come out and I realize that at the core of the various theories, they just don't do well when they aren't together. The storyline is mind blowing. I look forward to you discovering it.

We still cannot forget the time.. When army struggles for the theories everytime Big Hit drops mv..scary mindblowing theories, i cant process how they plan the storyline to feed us for years..

You might have caught that at the beginning of every bts mv there is their company logo Bighit Entertainment and below it the slogan "Music and Artists for Healing" and that's basically what bts music is about. Their overall big picture has always been to stand up for the youth and shed light on their issues and be like a source of hope and comfort for them. Which is how the storyline was birthed. This MV was the beginning of an era in bts music called Hwa Yang Yeong Hwa( HYYH), these are the red chinese character you saw in the beginning of the mv. It translates to "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life" Basically the era is about the good( fun, friendships, relationships, love) and bad ( that loss of the innocence of childhood due to struggles) moments that young people experience as they are coming of age into adults and how they both shape us in the grand scheme.

Pro tip for the story line: Water=Jimin Fire= Suga Flower/window with curtain=Jin Snickers/circus/pills= Jhope Blood= V Mirror= RM Floating/sky= (usually) jungkook

Yes yes yes. That is why BTS is BTS. That is why we love BTS. Their song lyrics, albums, music videos are so meaningful. Kudos to them and their team. Their songs/mvs never never about half naked girls, fancy cars, clubbing, silly frat parties, never those things. They always always plan ahead. In a lot of their MVs or performances, they often drop hints for their next album. BTS always makes a lot of ARMY doing detective and research works 😁 Example, the stuff written on the black board in RM persona trailer, hidden images/writings in Boy with luv mv, etc.

It's crazy when you understand the whole story... you'll realize that even the sneaker bars in 'Fake Love' have a meaning... it's insane !! 💜

BTS storyline has a huge impact why I stanned them, I remember how lost I am in Run era because everyone is losing their minds

I need U is pretty much them dealing with this pain (youth pain) and other things wrong in their life. Each of the seven boys tells a specific story, and the combined music video tells the story of the pain and hardships of youth. They are showing youth isn't as it seems. It's also a process where one must learn by experience when it comes to the real world. so here setting of the story: 1. Jin is in a white, monastic room, holding lily petals into his hands and looking numb. I believe jin was mourning for the loss of his friends. The petals were 6 and there are 6 members not including Jin. He burned the petals meaning he's lost his friends on their pathway to adulthood. These are supposed to be the innocent members. But once he puts them down, they start to burn, or better said, they lose their innocence. He is wearing white shirt and many ARMYs would agree this as a symbol of innocence . In many cultures, white is often associated with death. It illustrates the end of one's life cycle and their transition into after life. 2. J-Hope is looking at himself into a mirror with perplexity. Back at the joyful campfire, J-Hope gets rid of his pills into the fire because when he is with his friends, he’s happy and doesn’t feel pain anymore (see the “You can smile as long as we’re together”quote from the Prologue). The timing for this shot also indicates that J-Hope is in denial of his condition . 3. JungKook is wandering the streets, going nowhere. I believe this is basically saying he's had enough of the pressure and stress of being alone. He doesn't want to suffer anymore which then leads to him ending his life. 4. V seems pensive, sitting by the door of what is actually the family appartement, where his dad’s bottles of alcohol are laid down on the floor. We see him watching a his sister suffering domestic violence. V then grabs a glass bottle and stans the offender a few times. He is then stopped by his sister and he realises what has just happened. Also in many countries domestic violence is a huge problem and it's usually the women who are abused by their partners which is a sad thing in today's society. 5. Suga is lying on a bed, stroking the pillow by his side with a longing look. Someone seems to just have left (crumpled sheets). he’s literally playing with fire, as a personnification of the angsty teenage mind. 6. Rapmon is working at a gas station (living the reality of adulthood), sucking onto a lollipop (a blatant symbol of childhood). Also, notice how his hoodie says 'paradise' on the back of it. This could be an indication to the actual paradise as well as their song 'Paradise - 낙원' . 7. Jimin appears in a bathtub, burning down a note (whatever that note is or says, it is obviously something that pains him and that he doesn’t want to hold onto. By burning it down, he denies its very existence). In the scene, we see Jimin turning the tap on. This is a clear indication of his attempts of suicide by drowning. These scenes have been repeating in a lot of their recent videos. Yes, Jimin's have strong relation with water. cr: aminoapp, quora, thebangtantheory Well, the message of this music video is about the troubled youth / youth pain. Remember BTS is representative of youth. 💕 Now you find again one of the reasons why BTS is different from other boy groups. Why they are very attractive to ARMY. One of them is because of this. Big Hit and BTS, they have never released any work without leaving meaning. All of them are connected to each other in great detail. They are much inspired by psychology books, films and experience their difficulties in living their youth or what they experience when they are still considered inferior by society. They are very smart making it all the more interesting and educating fans. It feels very exciting when RM always gives us homework about books that we have to read in order to understand the concept of their album when the comeback. 💕💕💕

You probably won't see this, but thanks for opening up about ur struggles. I am glad u found BTS, I myself suffer from depression and when I found BTS it was during a really dark time I even considered suicide, finding them and their music was a blessing that's really carried me through these past 4yrs yes I actually found them during this era or they found me, as the fandom saying goes BTS finds u when u most need them.

now you're seeing BTS as Actors. Yes all their MVs requires for them to act at some level, but this MV shows each of them portrays the character in the storyline. The gist of this MV is that, they are all going through something individually, but they are the happiest when they are all together. But the storyline has a twist wherein the boys had to be separated from each other, thus they endured their personal struggles alone while missing the group of friends that genuinely accepted them for who they are.

BigHit is so genius in making this storyline that has been going on for 5 years now.

Bts’s story line is started from very beginning of their album. Showing how they meet each other snd stuff... BTS and bighit are so genius... if you wanna get to know their story line really well then study from very beginning of their album and MV includes Japanese version MV as well.

With BTS there's so much stuff to look into! BTS take a lot from art, history and literature. For example, Wings Album is based off of Demian by Hermann Hesse. They even use ambigrams in their videos! Ambigrams are a type of graphical art that becomes different when viewed from a different perspective. Like in Fake Love, the Save Me behind V says I'm Fine upside down. In RUN there's writing that says LIFE IS GREAT but says I HATE MYSELF BACKWARDS. BTS and their staff are extremely detail oriented! RM even used some song lyrics in his UN speech, showing that the lyrics he and they write preach the message they want to give out!

22:04 this is how I knew of BTS. That was 2014 the Dark and Wild era. I was in my lowest point in my life. I just need someone that I can share what I'm going through in my life but instead I found BTS. 💜💜💜

Yes and just so you know they actually drop random clues like books, dates, quotes among others and even during concert they will drop clues and puzzles. You will never get bored with BTS the whole storyline is just amazing and ppl think we are crazy to preorders their albums all I can say BTS is like music version of harry potter books or star wars movies. Its a shame lots of outsiders will never know about this and its the same reason why most ARMY will spread BTS music all over the world because we don't want this great art to get buried . One more tip the word girl was not suppose to be in the song but due to the restrictions by Korean censorship board the decided to use it and commercially its better. Personally I think we can see the 'GIRL' representing depression, addictions, rage among others.

It all ties in. BTS built their own fictional storylines, and it so amazing. They didn't want to just make songs that meant nothing. They didn't wish to just pop out singles after singles with no real beginning nor end as we see with so many other groups and artist. Big hit did amazing when they collectively have drawn out the group they wanted. They show us the struggles of real life. Real pain. From not loving yourself to self-harm, to abuse within family homes, hate, and disregard love, molding yourself into the image that someone else wants of you. Never feeling good enough. They touch base on so much more than just teenage puppy love.
