BTS lived together for around 10yrs including their training days. It's only within the last two years they started buying their own places but they still spent significant amount of time living together because they rented their house together and have activities and tours etc together. However they have their own places for the better part of two years.

I always assumed after they got their own places they lived apart except when they were actively working on projects. I viewed the dorm as a kind of crash pad for when they were all at the studio together or working at the company late doing schedules and choreography training, etc. It seems like they spent the majority of their time in the dorms even after they got their own places, at least while they were working. I am happy for them to get the opportunity to explore and experience life in new ways. I hope that it gives them a chance to recharge and refocus (FOCUS ON). I'm excited to see what comes next for them.

The sadness mixed with pride is the same. You want them to stay but you know they gotta do this in order to grow into the people you always knew they could be.

So to clear up some things: You could say that it is a thing for K-pop bands to live together. However, after BTS became bigger around 2017, they weren‘t forced to live together anymore, but they chose to continue living together because without each other they would feel lonely. (that‘s what Taehyung (V) said in on a show in 2017, I don‘t remember the name, but it‘s that show where you have to wear school uniforms) BTS are very close, they are like brothers and as they‘ve said, they are like family. They are so used to each other which is the reason why they continued to live together until now. But as RM already stated at this festa, they are 7 adults in their late 20s and living together doesn‘t make much sense. Everyone needs their privacy and they are also growing older which is why they recently decided to live separately. It was a tough decision for them since they have been living together since approximately 12/13 years. And I‘m sorry for my English, it’s not my first language

It really makes no sense to be in your late 20s living with 6 other guys, they have compromised so much, they definitely deserve to have a life!

yes, but also, they have not been living together for years now, they held the house lease for when they have to shoot and do group activities...they all have bought their own properties years ago.

jungkook went live yesterday and this is what he said “we're not disbanding! (laughs) we're not going on hiatus! we'll be filming run bts, and the members, each of us felt, and i think it's the same for you, but we felt tired and felt like we were standing still in the same place. we’re not gonna stop group activities at all!” (taken from translator on twitter)

It is common for kpop groups to live together for a long time because it will strengthen their bond and it is much easier for them to do group activities and schedules. By the time they were already established and can afford to buy their own place they were allowed to do so. BTS had their own houses/apartments already even years back and they were in the most expensive places in South Korea.

You guys should really start watching "In The Soop" to see them living together. It is a lovely show where they take break from their daily lives, all the hustle and bustle & chill together for a few days in a serene place. It's awesome. And RUN BTS is a must. Best show ever. You will get to see each of their personalities... They are so so hilarious please 😂😂😂😂

They filmed this before going to the White House, so they probably don’t have access to the place anymore, but in shows like Bon Voyage, RunBTS and when hey go Live they’ve shown bits and pieces, when they make their suitcases, cook, gather around, live in their rooms or film funny sketches. They filmed the music video for Life Goes On there too.

They lived together because it just makes sense to drop them off and pick them up at the same place and round everyone up. They lived a crazy hectic schedule so every minute counts to get them ready. Living together builds teamwork and is a chance to really learn each other so..

BTS didn't have to live together. When they were younger, they couldn't afford anything more (and they lived under the company). But once they had the money, they chose to still live together because it's a big part of their focus, to be a group. They talk about it a bit later, not necessarily living together, but it goes under the same topic of their view on themself and as a group. But it is normal for k-pop groups to live together for the first few years, a tactic to get them to bond, and it's beneficial as they do everything as a group at the start anyway. But once they start to earn their own money, 2-5 years they move for themself. BTS is a bit special with how long they have lived together and also with them not really having their own solo carer. They have mixtapes and free songs(and 1-2 solo songs in the BTS albums), as well as some have a few collabs. But BTS has very much been one unit. BTS is as always a bit unique in that way.

Coming from all different parts of the country, it made sense to share a place. It allows them to be each other's family since they were away from their own. And like college students, they were only ever home to sleep anyways. This last living arrangement meant they could all have their own rooms. But Jimin said it would feel lonely, so J-Hope decided to continue sharing with him.

I guess it's why their chemistry together are great because they're like brothers/family now more than just friends and bandmates

Life Goes ON MV is at their dorm. the bedroom part is the one shared by Jimin and Jhope's :)

This was filmed on May 20 and their lease ended 5/31 so they’re out of there already. I wish we could get a tour but you can see parts of it in their Life Goes On MV. Jimin and Hobi shared a room, and you can see JK’s room. Also there’s a few VLives they filmed in the dorm and you can see it in S4 E1 Bon Voyage. They’ve all had their own separate places throughout Seoul for the last year or 2, but my understanding is that they still lived in the dorm during work periods (going to their own places during off periods).

They will come back...they need to rest and to focus on their solo albums We will support you BTS💖

Prior to COVID, they were on tour every year, releasing 2 albums a year, filming Run BTS 4 episodes a month, Bon Voyage once a year, Fiesta and +++. So they spent most of their time here, not in their apartment. During COVID, they also quarantined and worked together here.

Guys just to make sure after this live they clarified they are not going to disband or on haitus they will continue group projects but the will release solo albums then everything is normal .

With the Rise of Bangtan docu series, it's mentioned there that idols live together in a dorm. BTS just separated houses when the pandemic strikes in 2020. They're living with a manager. It's common for all Kpop idols. It is necessary for their hectic schedules and it's also a way to protect the idols from anything. This is why they always say that they miss family coz they're living far from them.

We will wait for them.

Just to clear things up these guys aren't going to disband there just taking a break to focus on there solo stuff but thay are going to still do group things together as well plus they will be making more run bts episodes from what jungkook said in his vlive yesterday.

When it comes to living together: for sure at the very beginning, it was out of necessity (remember, some of them traveled to Seoul from different parts of Korea and were not old enough to live alone, money was an issue as well), but also could be for team-building and to make it easier to gather them for schedules and work things.

What the hell does out of age mean anyway If you're alive you have an age if you're dead you're out of age you don't have an age anymore. Did you possibly mean that they were not of age as in not legally adults when they debut? By that time, I think the only one maybe two that were not of age were Jungkook, maybe V. But German and V are the same age and when they were doing American Hustle live life in Los Angeles CA. in the segment of the show Jimin said he was 18 now that might have been 18 Korean age which would have made him 16. In the same show I believe John cook said he was 16 Korean age would have made him 14.

@@heyrobwest3908 Well, I will correct my mistake, not everyone here knows English perfectly (but at least you were able to get what I mean about their age, lucky me). What I mean is that some of them were not old enough to leave their home and sign contracts without their parent's approval and the accommodation was provided by a company that was not rich at that point.

idk about other idols but i know bts has been together the longest which shows how close they are and mature they are imo, and no they dont have to they chose to 😊 but i also think theyve been living in their own places for a couple years already now !

They lived together starting from a shared room with 1 bathroom, to a house with 2-3 rooms, then some posh dorm in one of the best area of seoul Hannam dong, up untill late 2020 atleast, bcoz their 2020 Grammy reaction was shot in the dorm & also the place in the MV for Life Goes On is their dorm as well. Now they live in separate places, apartments, homes. RM & Jimin have separate apartments in Hannam dong, same area where the dorm was. Others moved out of that area.

I think they stopped living together as soon as they bought their own places, but they bought their own places over time (their purchases began in at least 2016 with j-hope who still lives in the complex he bought in, and most of the others followed in 2018-2019 and some have purchased and re-purchased, others have also bought for their parents). But, I think the time they spent in the house they shared was super limited for the last 3-4 years. As soon as they started arriving to/departing from places like stadiums and the airport in 6-7 different vehicles, they were pretty clearly not all leaving from/arriving to their shared home. I think the contract on the shared home just wasn't over, so they never had to make it public that they weren't using it much. That's my take. If you want a house tour of the shared home they had, it's featured in the video you just watched (they're in their living room I think, which they had divided into bedrooms), and it also can be seen in the "Life Goes On" video - when they are on the sofa playing games/watching TV. You can also see the bedroom Hobi and Jimin shared - it's the one they're in when the whole band is seated on the two beds. Hobi and Jimin were the only two that shared bedrooms in that home until the end (although, my guess is hobi spent most of his time in his own home - the dates overlap between when they bought the shared house and when hobi bought his own first place), and that's why he could share with Jimin when he did stay at the shared house. These are just my own logical assumptions, though, based on what I've seen, things they've said over the years, etc.

They haven't been living together for the last two years, but I think they still slept over in their shared house from time to time, especially when their schedule makes it so. J-Hope and Jimin, I believe, are the ones who came back to their house more often. Living in one house is common for idols because it's easier to work as a group that way (going to shoots together, making music together, practicing at home). I do think it's in the contract for all groups to live together to strengthen their teamwork. However, that stops after a few years or once they reach some level of fame, so BTS still living together in 2019-2020 was weird, but understandable given how close they are.

Bighit told them they can get out dorm in 2017. But they decided keep living together.

Make sure to read RMs Weverse post and watch jungkooks vlive and read the ceo email as well as big hits press release because the subtitles were a bit misleading and they aren’t going on a hiatus. They are just taking it slow. They will be focusing on there solo content meaning albums etc. But they will still do some group activities it just won’t be there main priority and maybe music might take a while before they come out with me OT7 music. But we should be happy and support there solo work and new projects and wait patiently and lovingly until they are ready to come out with new OT7 content (music). As an army since 2013 I can see where they are coming from there are unheard of in the K-pop world for a group to go so long living together and doing no solo work. So I will be waiting for them. Besides they deserve a break if we want Bangtan for the long run. They are thinking of what is healthy for them to remain here with us for a long time to come. Western artist go between 2-3 years in between albums they have been doing 1-2 comebacks since they debuted and sometimes 3. So let’s be happy for them and if your true army you’ll cheer for them individually just like you do for them together and we will be here ready with open arms and listening ears when they return.

Thank you. So well said. I starter with Seo Taiji after that BTS. BTS started very poor and BigHit too. They worked very hard and had a lot of negativity from the big 3 companies etc. I remember RM saying that all Seven are in a boat together but, are all looking at a different direction. Yes, each one of Them is unique and special. I'm 62 (that's how I started with Seo Taiji) but, learned a lot from Them. I went through difficult times and BTS and Nightwish ( Finnish band) ( fun part their fans are called Nightwish ARMY)(since 1995/1996) helped me through it. There's a lot of people saying you find BTS in your life when you need Them. Well they need is now to support RM Suga JHope Jin Jungkook V Jimin with their solo's. Also to let Them grow/nature and to experience doing the things on their own etc. Thank you for your positivity. Let's keep on streaming Yet to Come, Youth and my absolute favorite Run. Also watched a reactie called Monq who is so happy with that song that hè can Imagine BTS making a movie with that song where all Seven Members are acting in. Sorry, for my long reaction but, your reaction made me happy. I'm also going to continue to support each members solo's and helping people in need and contributie to positive ARMY 'S activities in helping. I mean yes they are icons, legends and artist but before that they are human and they deserve to live a life like everyone else and all that it includes. So if your a true army and truly care about them. Then let them spread there wings and fly. Separate houses now but they lived together in bigger houses each time they moved until like... maybe less than a couple of years ago? Even when they bought their own homes they still stayed together. I'm guessing it was driven by their bond and schedules because they've been vocal about not being comfortable being away from one another on many occassions. One time they were asked how'd they'd feel about an eight member. Yoongi was quick to say he doesn't think that person can keep up with the schedule, someone said all the rooms are taken and I think Kookie said he already has a lot of stuff. So yeah they're that close. But our boys need their own space now. Physically, emotionally, spiritually, professionally so they're laying low for a while but will come back again.

apparently jungkook bought an apartment a few years ago and then sold it because he barely put a foot in it since it wasn't practical for him to go there to sleep or eat when he had the schedule he had, and he was spending most of his free time in the common house anyways, now they all have their own places and a not-so-tight schedule so the arrangement works.

They haven’t lived together in years but their dorm was a common place for them during promotions so they split part of their time there and their actual homes. They bought own homes years ago and since Covid they haven’t lived together at all

In the beginning they lived together as part of the contract. Eventually it was no longer in the contract but they remained together. I think mostly bc it was convenient and cheaper and when they eventually had the money to live together, they just weren't ready to live apart yet. They've been a little family for over a decade now- supporting each other threw highschool, college, work, travel, etc while away from their parents. I imagine it must've been hard to feel ready and accept living on their own. They're ready for that now tho and they've been living on their own for a year or so. Some people say two years but they bought their houses about 2 years ago and they did semi live there but not all the time. Now they're making it official

The LIFE GOES ON music video was entirely shot in their house which is this house where they are having their festa dinner. You can get an idea of sorts how it looks like from the MV. They had 3 more houses before they rented this one. Most of their early festa celebrations used to happen in their house as well.

Over the past few years each member has bought their own home/condo, and only stayed in their dorm when convenient, but now that they all own their own individual homes, there is no need to renew the lease on the dorm. They also filmed Life Goes on in their dorm. The bedroom scene is Jimin/J-Hope's bedroom.

When they started living together as trainees they were ages 13/14 to 20. Trainees live together and when they debuted they still lived together cause the company still had not much money. It's only been the last 2 years ish that they had bought separate places. We do know that they still stayed sleeping in the same place for a while after but I am sure they had already started spending nights/weekends/time off in their own places.

they have now officially stated that they live in separate apartments, but until at least 2020/2021 or so they did live together. Had the apartment (where this dinner and Life Goes On MV is shot) for a few years. Usually the kpop system encourages groups living together to form a bond/synergy etc but most groups move into separate places a few years into their career. BTS is a bit different in the sense that they did have their own places or apartments but spent a lot of time under one roof and seemed to prefer it too. It may be easier logistically I guess, especially during the months they're the most active for comebacks.

There is a tour of the same type of apartment they live in, available on some real estate YT channel. I watch a lot of house tour videos and it popped up on my recommendations one time. It's like a 4 bedroom apartment, and from what BTS has said in the past Jimin and Jhope were the only ones who shared a room (seen in the Life Goes On MV). That left two guys out, but I guess JK slept in their closet ( maybe why Golden Closet films is a name JK uses?). I have no inkling to where the last guy slept. There are tiny pieces of evidence you gather here and there from these Festa type videos, but the prices don't always add up so take with a grain of salt. Some of them have been living separately for a couple of years though.

As trainees, they live together like in boarding schools or ballet academies where you're learning your skills. It's also a question of control and monitoring in order to shape your trainees and keep track of everything pretty much like in military booth camp. As years go by I suppose it's a question of practicality to have a place with everything centralized for rehearsals, practices, make-up, styling and show wardrobes, music studios and also close living quarters to protect your private lifes from camera when you go live for example. Each had their own places for a few years now but it was never really confirmed in the open if they were actually still living together. Now they're confirming that the lease is over, they're currently removing their personal belongings and Bangtan living together as one family is over.

Yes.. They lived together, in different houses, from the tiny one to bigger and bigger :) until recently, 2or 3 years ago, when they got their own places but still kept this house, for transition :)) sometimes they came here not to be alone at home, even the lock down.. Here together.

There is a Run BTS also filmed in their old dorm and for their DNA Comeback. They've all been getting their seperate apartments for a few years. It looked like RM and Jimin were the last to get them and that was last year, but they're both in the same building. I don't think they've really been all living in the dorm for a couple years. Not when you see messages going back and forth between them trying to meet up or Instagram or other photos not in the dorm but their apartments.

I think they each purchased their own place once they had the finances but I believe they had a very large apartment that was like their "BTS home base". Being a k-pop idol is very different than being a Western artist. I tend to believe we (fandom) were told what we were supposed to be told to maintain the "K-Pop idol" image intact. There are some interesting documentaries about being an idol, that is something that would interesting to see you react to after you go though all 4 parts of this. It will help (I believe) to understand/explain their new direction (s). The lifestyle seems brutal.

Life goes on MV was shot in this house. The room they were in where they lie together was Jimin and Jhope room. And if you want to see the kitchen it's in Run BTS i'm sorry but i am not sure about the exact episode but it's in where Jin lost in a game and had to prepare RM and V's lunch.

They lived together ALL the time up til a couple years ago, maybe? But they still kept the dorm and still spent most of the time during CoVid at the dorm together (there was a lockdown there, and it was better for them to be in one spot for work, etc.). Even though they had purchased their own places, they still spent so much time working that they'd just stay at the dorm a lot of the time. I don't know about kpop in general, besides trainee time, but I do know that their schedules are so jammed that they really don't have much personal time, so it's not too farfetched to think of them just being there in one spot. BTS went from living 7 in 1 room, to having roommates in multiple rooms, to having their own rooms, to now moving out to their own homes.

If you watch the MV for "Life Goes On" and a lot of their documentaries like In The Soop and Bon Voyage 4, you see the inside of their apartment.

It's hiatus. But it's the kpop hiatus! Not from 1D. Hiatus in kpop the group members make music, shows, dramas, movies individually during this period. After one or two years, or >5 as some groups, come together again. But the albums and the whole scheme that comes with them become sparse between the works. It's no longer 1 or 2 albums/mini albums/singles per year. The rhythm is more relaxed. And the members get involved with other projects, engage in romantic relationships, etc.

@@kumiko7808 you know damn well what stigma the word "hiatus" brought to the industry by 1direction that's why hybe and even jungkook himself said its not hiatus technically in general because they will still have group activities like run bts, ads, photoshoots for 9 year army membership which was released today and (there were even seoul concert rumors from a korean stock market article) yoongi used the term "off-period" because at the time they filmed the video it was already their vacation

@@kumiko7808 I've been saying the same thing. Everybody is splitting hairs when they all mean the same. Hiatus, break, pause, it's all the same. Basically less frequently in music. Now I can understand if you say they are not disbanding. But you can definitely call it a hiatus🤷🏾‍♀️
