From an artist's point of view, you could see Yoongi didn't really know what to draw and he was happy for the designers to take the lead - Yoongi is very active in the story-making process, as we have since seen, that's what he excels at, but as to the design he struggled to get a clear vision. It would not have been easy for the designers, they do have to balance the vision with something that has a USP, which 'Holly' wouldn't have had due to RJ and Chimmy. It came across wrong in this ep, but Shooky is NOT a side character. I don't think Yoongi was as hurt as people try to make out, he clearly cared more about having a well-designed character than anything, hence why he asked for a 'template' and kept saying 'I really hope this is helpful' because he knew he didn't have anything particular in mind. Sometimes the client needs help, and it states that the members were all consulted on the changes beforehand. Yoongi didn't have a character he particularly cared about, like the others, he only drew Holly because he didn't know what to draw. It's that simple, it's not something to get triggered over.

My first feeling was also that I felt sorry for Suga, but in my opinion you also have to be careful not to overdramatize everything and then interpret everything under this light. Suga seemed happy and a sugery suger suga cookie in holly's colors does him more than justice :) and he may liked to be on cookys side, as his not so lonely:P stay positive, they did a lovely job

@@graigraigrai I think part of the theme of everyones characters were fictionalized/personified and animal/shape/object based. So having afro man distorts from the overall theme combined with everyone else. As afro isn't the feature of an animal or an object. It's a distinguished natural human feature to have hair on your head, and then having it as an afro is a specific human feature. And since it was called afro man, and that makes it way harder to distinguish since it's way too humanized rather than a personified object/animal/shape. So I understand I think they shouldve used Suga's dog that he drew and helped develop its individuality and uniqueness from the characters. I saw comments recommending and saying they couldve atleast help make a cat design for him! Also I really think that he was just tired and needed more help! They also shouldve given them a prep class on how to do this ahead of time. It's hard being creative if you want your work to be a certain way without knowing how to get it done. They shouldve helped him more!

No seriously, Mang is superior character! Everything worked out perfectly for Mang: the name, the story and message behind him, Hoseok as the one who let this character to be born and Hobi's personality which inspired designers too (just look at how many different mini situations they draw). Such a beautiful peace of art!

Can I say something to everyone who is getting triggered about how Suga’s idea was thrown away? I think the face he designed is still there, i mean the first one he made, since he didn’t really design the whole character but only the facial expression. I personally like how they did the final version of Shooky... they didn’t waste Suga’s idea, but if you don’t want to believe me then go ahead.

Agreed. Also watching all this in an aftermath, regardless of whether the first presentation Shooky had his "own spot" or not, it ended up being a full character. Also looking back, I can 100% see so many of Suga's og sketch expressions (like the box mouth or the shock expressions) in so much of the Shooky line stickers/messenger sticker designs. I do think they kept to the spirit of his art.

Yeah however, he honestly didn't stock a lot of information but also because 1.) Jimin already made a dog so whats the point of having 2 if were trying to release creativity and 2.) His design resembled some part of Jin's which again wouldn't look original. They could of asked him however instead of completely trashing the idea into Kookie's so I have to agree that I was disappointed. Suga could of produced more but I still feel bad for the guy

for the drawings, i love tata and mang the best. tae was very creative with tata to begin with. it's a really unique looking character with equally special qualities. mang really turned out very interesting too. the horse mask and the heart-shaped mouth where the real mang sees through. they added cute quirks and a depth to the bt21 friends. all of them are so charming and endearinggggg. i love them all but i relate to koya the best :> a koala who cant sleep because he thinks too much. perfectly captures joonie's tendency to worry about things a lot. he worries from little crabs to the whole universe. he's such a sensitive fellow. thanks line for helping bts make these

It makes me a bit sad for Yoongi that his character ended up so different from his original ideas, but I do get it. His original character had overlap with both Jimin's, as dog characters, and Jin's, characters with a similar fluffy appearance and similar expressions (although to me that just shows that Jin's alpaca is practically a poodle lmao); the difference from his versus Jimin's and Jin's was RJ and Chimchim were a bit more developed conceptually and so the designers went with those first. I'm not sure why they decided not to do anything with Afroman but maybe they thought it wouldn't really fit in with the other characters since the others are all animal-types (plus an alien XD). (I disagree with the people in the comments saying that he just didn't care and that's why he didn't come up with anything good tho; he kept commenting in previous clips that he hoped the designs they had done were helpful enough and that to me is a sign that he was worried about his designs being useful, and probably just wasn't confident in his drawing skills which may have hindered his creativity.)

I'm shocked Suga had a difficult time contributing to his character and even seemed insecure and nervous about it. I thought he would've been really good at it based off the character he made of himself for his birthday for the label stickers on the gift he made for fans! But I think Shooky turned out really well and is a funny creative lil' character! I like that he's so tiny!
