    can we join CSIR labs after BSMS degree?And work permanently???? And paid well?

  • @madhuresearch

    @madhuresearch

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes. You can join CSIR lab after doing BSMS and clearing one national level exam for PhD be it GATE or NET. Paid well is subjective. You get 31k for the first two years as a Junior Research Fellow and 35k for the next three year as Senior Research Fellow. But if you get selected for PMRF (Prime minister research fellowship) then you get 75k per month initially then it get till 80k I guess.

    NCERT does play a big role but that's just not enough to secure a very good rank. Also incorporate JEE problem solving books. That would give an extra edge. Hope it helps.

    In this interview, he explains how to apply in foreign countries for phd after bsms in iiser in detail. Also, yes foreign universities do want iiser graduates because of the curriculum iiser has. Also keep in mind that lot of things can change by the time you finish your BSMS. As he also mentions how the importance of GRE has changed.

    There are a few things you should think about. 1. What is the calibre of the university you're enrolling in? Is the university where you're getting your BSMS reputable in terms of academics and teaching? 2. Does it have qualified professors? Are there active researchers on it? adequate labs for research and teaching? The BioPhysics institute has to be questioned similarly. What are its former students doing? 4. If applicable, which fields are you interested in?

    If you want to go into theoretical physics and research, then BS-MS Physics from IISER would be a better choice. Ideally, to make a more informed choice, you should compare the course structure of the engineering physics course you are allotted and the BS-MS course of the given IISER and decide based on what you like. If you are not sure about research as a career, yet interested in theoretical physics then Engineering physics from any reputed institute seems like a very flexible and a good choice. But if you really want to pursue theoretical physics as a research career then hands down go for BS-MS from IISER. Apart from the course structure, the research environment you will get in IISER will help you out in your overall development.

    Although engineering physics will cover the majority of the material, including classical physics, electromagnetism, quantum physics, statistical mechanics, and possibly other courses as electives, engineering physics is still not purely theoretical physics. As the name of the course suggests, you may also take engineering courses in the last year or so, primarily from the Electrical Engineering and Electronics fields, as well as other engineering lab courses.

    I am glad you found it helpful. Every internship he did, he has talked about during our conversation in the video. There are various ways you get the internship. For starters, start looking at the institutes website. If you are interested in doing an internship with a particular professor. You can look for their website and email him/her and ask if they are willing for you to join them.

    Hi @Vidhi to answer your second questions. It is not very straight forward. Some do, some don't. It all depends on the institute or professor you are applying to. If they have funding or not. Could you please dm me on my Instagram. I would share the details I have.
