    That's really a nice review. I've got to agree there's something about a modern 650 thumper that makes you smile the more you ride one. The bike needs some chrome. Maybe the sides of the tank and a more swept back chrome exhaust system. Thanks for looking after the dog.

    Hey Deimante. Good review on a beautiful retro classic even in crappy weather. Very nice single cylinder thump. Just one point… most speedos run clockwise, it’s just that on the BSA , the numbers start at a different point on the dial. Cheers and safe riding, Dan. ✌️🏍🇨🇦

    Wet weather! That’s why I have a top box with a pair of waterproof pants. I think a large capacity single cylinder bike makes a lot of sense with the cost of servicing these days. We are coming into winter in melbourne,Australia.

    Ive never seen the blacked out version of the new BSA. Normally I don't like the blacked out pipes and such, but it really works for this bike. I bet it would look cool with a solo sprung seat and a ridged frame conversion. I wonder if BSA will make a bobber at some point.

    I bougfht the Silver Legacy Edition, I already have a blacked out machine in my XL883N, so for the BSA I fancied a machine that I can polish. So far after two months of ownership the Gold Star is a great handler, I'm still running her in so I'm keeping the revs at a maximum of 3000 rpm in any gear. Due to the wet summer so far, I haven't taken the Gold Star out of the garage much.

    Another great review, Tomboy. Yours are the best and I always look forward to your real world road tests. The fact that you took the BSA out in the rain and didn't wait for the odd sunny day tells us more about the bike and about you as a reviewer than others who have reviewed the BSA 650. I don't mind riding in the rain, but hate having to clean my bikes afterwards because even a jet wash doesn't totally remove the dirt and wheel cleaner and plenty of microfibre cloths are necessary.

    Tomboy The dog rescue was priceless! Adorable little dog. The BSA is a really classic looking motorcycle. I think they are doing a great job with the styling. I put it right at the level of Triumph's T 100 lineup as far as the fit and finish. I would choose the BSA over a Royal Enfield as far as that goes. I'm glad to see the name come back as a British Brand even though they manufacture it in India. Great review Lady! I love it. Ride SAFE and BE safe! 👍👍🌹

    If you're grinning in your Helmet and having fun..., that must be the best advertisment for BSA they could ask for. I want a BSA and would most likely buy one if I had room in my garage, but unfortunately, they are not yet available in my home country. So, that leaves me time to clear out my garage and sell a bike. Love the bike to bits, it's the best of all the Retro Classics, but not in this Black. I prefer the Red version (as I once had a red Lightning). Good review, as always, and i'm sure I will have one... one day!

    Love proper looking motorcycles like we used to ride but the retro manufacturers need to make two versions , like a lot of manufacturers do. We need tall versions with longer reach from seat to foot pegs and a couple of inches at least on suspension. for all of us over six feet. If they stuck a 21 inch on front or 19inch and rear 18 with a longer fork and rear shock. I would buy one.

    The engine looks good but what I don't understand is why they chose to keep the worst looking part on the engine silver. That weird part that shoots off at a 45 degree angle looks far less than good but instead of hiding it by making it black they chose to paint everything around it black but paint it silver or silver grey. If I ever get this bike I am going to paint that ridiculous part black too so that hopefully no one will notice it.

    @@tomboyabit Shame! 🐕🐶😊 About final points... I think BSA is going to appeal more to those influenced by the brand than those who experienced it. I'm the target sales audience. 55 years old with a Royal Enfield 650 and in the market to spend some more. BSA was long gone when I got into bikes aged 16 in 1985 but they had a hell of a reputation that reached past their glory days. I'm done with speed so other things become appealing such as this bike. Nostalgia for an era I just missed out on because of when I was born. Younger riders than me won't remember BSA at all. Please review a Royal Alloy GP300. Something different. This thing needs a Diamante review. 👍

    I don't like bike reviews from England because you never get to see what the bike can do on the interstate or freeway or whatever. In America we have interstates where the speed limit is 80 mph and everyone goes about 90. So a bike rider needs to go at least 75 or 80 to keep from getting run over. But in England it's almost always raining and plus most of their roads are little pig trails where the speed limit is about 50 or maybe 60 if you are lucky. So the reviewer has to just putt around at 40 mph all day and thus, you cannot learn anything about how the bike handles at higher speeds and whether it has the capability to keep up with traffic on a fast road. I will be glad when this bike starts selling in the States so that maybe I can get a good review about how the bike does on the highways. For instance, I want to know how bad it vibrates at 80 mph.

  • @tomboyabit

    @tomboyabit

    Ай бұрын

    My dear friend from across the pond I assure you we test bikes not ‘40mph all day’. Not many people choose modern classic single for the motorway riding, but it rides 75mph with ease (a little less comfortable above that) and a top speed is a bit over 100 mph.
