BSA A7 at Performance Classics, the workshop story, brief recap & misty, drizzly ride to round off.
A few minutes of footage already seen in a couple of recent clips [ up to 6.20] is included here to help tell the whole story of some light recommissioning work done on this machine, the work briefly reflected upon before a short test ride, starting at 10 mins, which soon turned into a drizzly and slightly foggy run at times. Check out the surprise police car, which obviously wasn't chasing me!

"Once it gets on the cam" is what 500cc British BSA design star twin is all about. This also applies Velo Viper 350cc singles. No matter what the weather always a great appraisal from Paul .
A nice new paint job and it's a beauty.
I once had 2 of these one was a SS. When I had finished with them I got a brand new Triumph T120 Bonneville Big mistake. I soon got rid of that and bought a DBD34 Gold Star, I fell back in love with BSA's again.
Nothing wrong with the raindrops on the camera lens, gives you a sense of looking through the visor 😂😂
Beautiful bike and great job.

You need a windscreen wiper for your camera 😂 Nice ride and a good sounding A7 👍
Thank you for a ride Paul, have some fond memoirs about A7. My friend bought it we refurbished it with new pistons and rings and he used it for a good 5 years. Sold it and switched to some 500 Yamaha, what looked like good idea in this time. I used it perhaps a couple times and remember very easy to start and ride bike little mellow compared to my BMW, but again never used it in anger riding mostly in a big town. Could live with it now as well.
sounds fit now paul ,a lively old machine and plenty of life left in it, nice growl to it ! you`ve earned that hot cup of coffee !😊👍👍
That was a good run round considering the poor weather conditions. No heroics on a day like this. I had a 51 A10 plunger completely different bike a real pain to put on the main stand as well. Long gone now, A7 swingarm 👍. Thanks for sharing.
That was a great video. A great ride, shame about the raindrops. But what a lovely bike; the conditions really bought out the best.
That's a very sweet bike. Must admit I've got a real soft spot for the old A7, they cover most bases without going berserk. Nice.

shame about the rain but she sounds and goes real well nice job
Beautiful bike and ride out. Maybe a suggestion but could you wipe the camera lens (rain) once in a while or maybe use a water repellent on the camera screen? Thank you for sharing.
I used to love my old shooting star. Sadly it was written off when a car driver t-boned me.
Hey Paul, noticed the railway sign has had name covered, is this due to your snipers and dont want them to know where you live ?. Sad days if it is buddy, eff them all and keep doing what your doing, turning out great informitive videos, best out there buddy
I had that problem with the float bowl on a C15 many years ago, after replacing the bowl I eventually realised that the problem was a bent float bowl arm, I'm sure if the arm was bent you would of noticed it,.. Finding your Vlogs very interesting as I'm not mechanically minded, also love the run's you do, my favourite route and a regular ride I take myself across the A4069, better known as Jeremy Clarksons Top Gear play ground.
Lovely bike. I have often found brake cables end up short when non standard levers have been fitted so there is an adjuster top as well as bottom.
Thank you sir!
hello paul, another very entertaining video. i find the classic english motorcycles very successful in terms of style, but sometimes the technical solutions seem a bit obstructed. but this is a very nice bike. I hope the weather will soon be a little warmer here so that I can dare to ride my motorbike again. Greetings from the Palatinate.

Very nice BSA! Are those shocks standard? They look quite tall but if the bike handles well, who cares? Looks like it goes really well, good job as ever.
That’s odd that the float should foul the carb body, was it the correct float for that carb

No problem - there was rubber wrapped around the top tube on this one.

I think there are proper ones.
my a7 did that with the float even when i cleaned it up it still stuck on that lug ,i ended up jamming a piece of a feeler guage between the lugs to just lift the flaot slightly higher
