Brutal Fitness Test used by Olympic Champions Fiji!

Спорт

Rugby Fit returns with Greg O'Shea who is joined by Love Island co-star Joe Garrett to take on one of the most brutal fitness tests in world sport. They will be taking the advice of Olympic Gold Medal winning Fiji coach Ben Ryan and tackling sand dunes in an attempt to get as fit as a Flying Fijian.

The Sigatoka sand dunes are enormously steep and the sand is a bit looser (not much water in them), making it less stable and very hard to run up! Now you know how Fijian rugby players got lower body strength from, pumping hard out on the sand makes running on the pitch a breeze!

I cant recall correctly but I think it was Werner Kok who said that he thought he was very fit playing 15s and then realised just how brutal that fitness jump was into 7s. Mad respect to all 7s players. Mad respect to Fiji. 7s is the most physically demanding sport in the world

Been training up at the Sigatoka dunes with the local province team and mahn...during the training you just wanna tell ur self that u should quit drinking and smoking or even give up playing rugby😅...but somehow u always find the courage to do well...but after the dunes sessions u kinda go back to ur word and reward urself with a packet of cigarette and a couple of drinks😂...at the end of the day u just simply love running with the ball🤙
