I'm originally from Brussels. The city used to be jammed with cars 24 hours a day. It was hellish, dangerous, noisy and very polluted. A lot of delinquency. In recent years, the entire historic city center has been converted into a pedestrian zone. There are more police, but they remain discreet. You see the city in a different way. The architecture is magnificent. You can admire the monuments and cross the streets without risking your life at every turn. The city is attracting tourists again. It's much more pleasant. Brussels is a city on a human scale. Even though it's the capital of Europe, it's not a megalopolis. Its inhabitants are very open and friendly.

Delinquency is mainly due to the Muslim community.

Is there a lot of delinquency actually?

@@JuJuCoQP the majority of delinquency comes from people coming from North Africa (Moroccans). The city center is surrounded by communities with a Muslim majority.

Really? Belgium is at the heartland of European history. During the Middle Ages and later, Flemish (Belgian) cities like Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp were among the most important cities in the world (yes: world). The wonderful architecture in these cities is a great reminder of this.
