Welcome to Bowlers Paradise!
The all new Beyond Infinity from Brunswick is the second release to feature that higher RG and slightly asymmetrical Infinity core, but this time is is wrapped with the HK22 AXH Pearl cover finished to 1500 compound out of the box.
For the layout, I went with pretty much the same layout I had on the original infinity. I really enjoyed the reaction I saw from that piece, just that the thing it was lacking was responsiveness downlane. My hope was that the HK22 would quicken the move off the spot while keeping the layout the same would let me see a similar roll through the midlane.
AND ON THE LANES… The beyond infinity went well beyond my expectations. This thing was pretty awesome to throw and was surprisingly versatile as I adjusted my rotation and ball speed to get it to do different things. The color scheme was definitely pretty wild so seeing exactly what the ball was doing was a little tough, but that doesn’t really matter when it can make 10 pin disappear this fast.
But my favorite part about throwing this one is how it balances being clean with being soft off the spot and still carries pins pretty well. Typically with bigger pearl pieces like this, there’s a pretty obvious trade off between these variables and its rare to see a ball do both things still get the corners out, but the Beyond infinity does just that. Once you find enough hold, this one from Brunswick floats through the middle part of the lane and does almost exactly what your hand tells it to do at the bottom of your swing.
Now, on the list of potential downsides, I did have less miss room than I expected. Don’t get me wrong, I’m well aware of how much I spray my shots all over this house shot, but the ideal shape for the beyond infinity was in a specific zone, and there wasn’t a great look outside of that spot. This isn’t terribly surprising as the design intent isn’t to make this a do everything type of piece, but it does amplify the necessity to get into the right zone with this one quickly.
So if I were to put this one in a three ball arsenal, I’d look to add the Hammer Black Widow 3.0 and a Brunswick Ethos to that same bag. The Widow is obviously the first ball out of the bag with that combination, and the Ethos is such a versatile symmetrical piece that once the look with the Widow goes away, you can easily jump to that one. Then when there’s enough friction to bump in with the Beyond Infinity and open up the lane, you’ll have that arrow covered as well.
Jumping to our crossbrand comparisons, I dug into the archive and took a look at the Eternity from 900 Global and there is just a ton of overlap between these two pieces. The only real difference here is that the Eternity has a slightly lower RG and slightly more intermediate diff, but the results on the lane show us that if you like the shape of one, you’re pretty likely to get a similar shape out of the other.
Jumping to our crossbrand comparisons, I first took a look at the Attention Star from Roto Grip and here you can see just how much more aggressive off the spot this one is when compared to the Beyond Infinity. Intermediate diff is the primary cause of this more harsh change in direction, and if you need that extra snap off the back end, you’ll likely see more success with this one.
Then I took a look at the Radical Outer Limits Pearl and here you can see how it’s just a touch stronger front to back and that gets it to be even softer off the spot downlane. There’s likely a multitude of causes for this reaction, but the result is a piece thats slightly easier to control than the beyond infinity, but makes the trade off for a lower carry percentage because of it.
But with that, here’s my recommendations on types of bowlers that I think would match up well with the Beyond Infinity from Brunswick. The first is players with high axis tilt. The times I got the beyond infinity those extra couple feet down the lane were the times that the shape looked the best. If you have high tilt, that should come easy and this on from Brunswick will likely treat you quite well because of that trait in your game.
The second recommendation is for house bowlers looking for a big hooking ball. Sometimes you just want that piece to headline the top of your arsenal, but get stuck in a dull ball with a ton of core and even though its strong, it stinks. The Beyond Infinity is the perfect combination of strength and downlane flip for league bowlers to both have fun, but also score well.

I'm definitely intrigued by this ball, especially as a replacement for my Ebonite NVS since the RG and Diff are identical and the only difference is the cover stock. Others I'm considering are the Ebonite Emerge and the Brunswick Perfect Mindset. Thanks for all the info. As a simple house league bowler, this ball may find its way into my bag after a talk with the pro shop.

I think this one is a superior piece overall to the Perfect Mindset, and maybe even the Emerge. It’s really good.

@bowlersparadise2255 that's awesome. I throw the same way, it's a little hard to find good bowlers that use that style. So I can learn from you. Keep the videos coming my friend. Great stuff👍
