In my humble opinion, I think the bar was set even higher with the pandemic. People had time to sit in the studio all the time. Even if it was just 3 people in the studio at all times; the engineer with any two people that needed to work on the song. Silk Sonic murdered it tho, I agree.

@Jerry Louis with The Thickness fyi Bruno Mars produced all songs of silc sonic,directed all mvs,done choreos of all their dances,Anderson just in vocals,drums and writing . Bruno for production,writing,directing mvs ,some intruments(guitar,bass,piano) and vocals. He's also the one who pushed Anderson to improve his vocals and convinced Anderson to join him.

haha, I saw these cats at the MGM. Flew out to Vegas with my wife, sat 4 rows back from the stage. Bruno, Anderson, and the guys played the single best show I've ever seen. I'm a drummer, and I can say that Anderson is one of the greatest ever. Bruno....well, what can we say? No one sings like him. And the rest of the band (that's his brother on drums), amazing,

The 2 backup vocalist and dancers deserve some recognition. They’ve been consistently killing it right along with Bruno and Paak.

I believe Bruno Mars really enjoys making this type of funk throwback 70s, 80s style of music but had to make certain type of song when he was starting his career. He tried it with treasure as a preview. Him collaborating with Anderson Paak is a match made in heaven.

I'm glad they gave Anderson a piece where he can showcase his talent in rapping.

I will never recover from these two collaborating. Bruno is uber-sexy, Anderson is uber-cool, both are mega-talented and the band just makes it perfection. They are all living their best lives right here. Love this song so much. So good to see it performed live in this setting.

Wasn't expecting any rapping in the album but I'm glad we did, Bruno's better at singing but Andy's got the rapping and rasp in his voice, Bruno's got some rasp but Andy's next level.

I saw Silk Sonic perform in Vegas, and on paper, that should have been pretty silly. Bruno and Andy are kind of dorky dudes playing in a guady concert hall and wearing cheesy leisure suits and 70s sunglasses. But they came out there with so much conviction and with such a tight groove that by the time this song came on, I believed them 100%. At that moment, it really felt like these guys were the coolest dudes on the planet. I thought it'd be just pretty fun, but ended up being probably the best concert I've ever gone to. We should all hope to one day be as fly as Silk Sonic.

I went to see them on 5/29 & it was a non-stop party. I love Bruno's concerts because you see every ethnic group, all ages, etc. just dancing, singing to the top of their voices. The musicality is amazing, the choreography on point.

@@joshalben833 He had modest success with 'Yes Lawd' and 'Venice' albums around 2012. He was on Dr. Dre's 'Compton' album in 2015. Other albums followed, 'Malibu ', 'Oxnard' and 'Ventura. He also has 4 Grammys. I mention this because, many still don't know who he is. They think Silk Sonic is a Bruno Mars project, featuring Anderson Paak. I've seen a lot of KZread reactors not even acknowledge Anderson. I just want him to get all of his flowers.

@@joshalben833 Yeah, I know 'Venice' was first. I thought 'Yes Lawd' came before the Dr. Dre project, because Anderson said he sang 'Suede' to him, which ended up on the 'Malibu album. There is a music video of 'Suede' with Anderson and Knowledge. Whatever the time-line, I'm glad others have figured it out.

Back to 70 ..amazing...

Impossible not to like this song

The best no skip album I've heard in years! And I play everything from soul, pop, rock, country, and R&B. This album is amazing. Having Bruno on the background reminds me of when MJ would let Biggie, Heavy, or the rapper on Blue Gangsta take center stage while he swoons. Something special about a megastar letting other people shine and come up. And, Andy -- he is a treasure. A talent! Like I said before, Silk Sonic has you running to YT like we used to run to the TV when MJ came on.

All of Bruno’s albums are no skip. He’s about quality not quantity.

Damn. Bruno is without a doubt the best performer alive today. Paak is proving himself too. He's taken his career to another level. He's gonna be a made man with this album.
