yeah. having an abusive parent like that and being in public school and just the life he had was already really hard, but add in the fact that he's likely autistic and canonly gay makes him stick out like a sore thumb and not fit in right. he grew up in the 1980s, where neurological disorders like ADHD and autism were new or hadn't been recognized as diagnosed disorders, and diagnoses for them was brand new unlike today where its normalized, and being gay/queer was only just beginning to be acceptable. I would do anything if it meant kids like him could have easier lives and feel safe and be able to be themselves, I'd do it in an instant. he didn't deserve that, and neither did anyone else.
