There aren't many games like that but Bruce Lee, I can still pick it up and enjoy it like I did in 1986, knowing the keyboard commands by heart. It was a masterpiece of platforming. The Amstrad CPC version is not the best but I loved it. I picked it up on the C64 when I got into emulation. And I really LOVED the Windows remake, it was so great.
ZX Spectrum version is the best. Crisp graphics, bright colors, and sound effects are great.

Yes. My nick says it all.
C64 for the win!
C64 version was amazing!
I remember playing this on our family's Apple IIc; amazing game! I remember getting stuck on the last boss before realizing you just need to run straight to the lamp, no jumping, no ducking, etc.

Atari best palette, eats everything else for breakfast.
I seem to remember that the C64 was infamous for being one of the most difficult games to crack. Normally it's a few days or weeks for hackers to figure out how to circumvent copy protection, but in the case of Bruce Lee it was more than 6 months, if I remember correctly. Great game. Easy to play right away, but challenging to finish.

That explains why it was the one game Inusually saw a store bought version of. 🙂
Spectrum версия самая приятная, проходил ее в 1996 году, я ее недооценивал))
Loved the C64 version at that time!
Great comparison thanks. Boy I played the Atari 8 bit version to death back in the day. Plus loved Pharos Curse too.
the spectrum one looks sharp and nice. even nicer than commodore's version.

@@noaht2005 No disrespect to the ZX Spectrum, but Bruce Lee on that system is renowned for being bad graphically. It's by far the worst version compared to the Amstrad, C64 and Atari versions (which aren't that advanced graphically themselves). The speccy can do so much better!
C64 for the win. Even better than the remade version.
there's also a master system home-brew remake too
The Apple II, Atari and C64 versions seem to share much of the code, as can be seen with similarities in the gameplay (such as jump physics) when compared to other versions. Of course, all three computers used a version of 6502 as their CPU, so it makes sense to adapt the existing 6502 code instead of programming each version from stratch. 😁
Atari 8 bit...Que recuerdos. ME encanta, un clasico.
Great video, but you missed the Sega master system version. Its unoficial but a great version. Great video comparison tho, keep it up :)

Thank you! The problem with unofficial versions is that many times they are not listed looking for information about the game versions and unfortunately I had no idea about the SMS one. In fact, I found the Windows one by chance, haha.
Wow they ported this to everything!
Great game on most of the versions.simple but addictive
Well, well...I played this game back in the 80's and only now I know that I could duck to avoid attacks. Sad to see that my version (MSX) pales compared to its 8 bit brothers.
nice comparison, great job but you miss the Sega Master System version (homebrew), the best one for me so far ;)
Amstrad version is for the first time the best, I know i've had all those systems.
Atari 8 bit is by far the best. Sound and GFX.
La version Amstrad est la meilleure à mon avis.
I don't understand why the ZX Spectrum version had to deviate so much. The Apple II and MSX versions clearly demonstrate how to achieve the game in a monochromatic fashion.

Not sure what you're saying. The apple II version was absolute garbage with monochrome sprites melding into same color background. The MSX versions was better and looks nothing like the Apple II with well defined colors between foreground and background. The Spectrum version has much more colors than the Apple II and the monochromatic sprites have defined outlines when they mesh into same color background to make the sprites clear and crispy. In fact, it's the only version which does this. The Spectrum version also has higher resolution. You can clearly see the graphics are blockier in the Apple II and MSX version.

@@ZxSpectrumplusWhat I'm saying is the developers could have more closely adhered to the bitmap patterns from the original game while using the techniques commonly seen on low color bitmapped systems like the Apple II, Macintosh, and ZX Spectrum, such as giving Bruce Lee an outline. Boasting the ZX Spectrum has more colors than the Apple II sounds like something their marketing department in the 80s would have managed into a magazine ad. Having to change the background color for 8 clock cycles doesn't qualify as having multicolor graphics in my book. Sure, early systems had to halve the resolution to get multiple colors. And that's where your "blocky" argument comes in. But limited color changes to 8x8 tiles is kind of the epitome of blocky.
Top game 👍😍
i tried to play on my browser with a PS4 gamepad but its uncontrollable. Do i need a digital joystick to enjoy this marvel?

I love the unofficial sequel made for both PC and the original C-64. The one that also has a Chuck Norris sprite, has all the previous mechanics, but also, a swimming mechanic. The green sumo wrestler guy does a fun cameo. If you loved the original, you will love this too.
You forgot the master system version
I grew up on the apple ][ version, some of these other ports are just awful.

MSX is the worst

I didn't know there's a Windows version! Btw, BBC version gotta be crappiest. Bruce Lee is now a Blonde with pink skin?? That's racist!!! Lol.
Uff the Windows version really look like shit...
