Hello Stripey. This is my first time commenting as its all abit new to me, Im abit of an old fart(51😁) My Brother, Dave O'Neill, hooked me onto your channel. And can I say, what a Result!!! Im still playing catch up, but your videos, research, and insight is so appreciated. Before I start to Ramble, just a quick..... ramble. My first pair of nunckaku, I bought or traded, I was about 13/14 school lad. Im 99% sure they were made of mahogany(??), dark very heavy wood. Had very crude bored out holes top and one side. Very Ropey bit of rope with two knots. Batons were twined with red electrical tape, and the base of the batons had the ying/yang symbol in tipex and black marker. They were Amazing!!!! What were your first Nunchuks Stripey? Love the work. God Bless.

Great video again Stripey. How great would it be to own a piece of history that Bruce actually used, amazing. It's always a chance when buying something like this, check, double check and check again! Have never seen any photos of Bob Wall with Bruce on the G.O.D set so I would say that this may not be true. We know Bob had a tendency to tell a porky or two! Those yellow nunchuks from the Hong Kong Bruce Lee Club would look fab on the wall😊 Funnily I'm in the middle of doing a jigsaw, with the image Milton Wong painted of Bruce holding the nunchuks from WOTD. Go for it Stripey, you know you want to😊. I really enjoyed this video, I wonder where all Bruce's nunchuks are now!? Thanks Stripey ☺️✌️

Another great video. Thanks....How about a video about the 3 different sneakers during the filming of "Game of Death" in 1972?That is also a very talked theme...I have read in the late 90's and early 00's on the "BruceLeeDivineWind" forum that Linda sold most of his original nunchucks, sneakers, clothes, glasses and such, on an auctions in the mid 90's...Most items, circling around, are all replicas. And some of the true, original items, are still with Linda and Shannon...Cheers.

Really interesting video Stripey. I did comment to Charles Damiano that there is a kung fu monthly edition that featured a photo of the editor standing in Gerrard Street, London, holding a set of hardwood nunchakus that were said to be the ones used in ' Fist of fury'. It gave all the details of length of club and chain. I'm still trying to find the issue that its featured in. I'll let you and Charles know when I do. I have two sets of hardwood nunchakus. One is a 'Game of Death' replica with a picture of Bruce in his GOD suit printed on each club. These were given to me by my Wing Chun Sifu . The other set I bought off Clive Parkinson when he was world Lau Gar Kung fu champion. These are black and have a universal swivel link and resemble the ETD nunchaku and they are quite heavy.

Excellent video. Just think your video would've been heavily cut by James Ferman for showing the illegal weapon. Even Dragnet (1987) was cut just for showing Enter the Dragon poster! Shots from No Retreat No Surrender (1985) where the teenager unrolls a Bruce Lee holding a pair of nunchucks was cut. Thankfully we now live in enlightened times, well we started to after his retirement.

I agree with you on the game of death nunchucks no wooden ones used from what i see. i have spent yrs trying to get replicas of all the nunchucks he used but apart from the game of death ones i have never found anyone selling exact replicas. so i ended up making my own, trying to figure the swivel systems took some time but finally got some good shots to be able to get as close to (as far as i can tell) the swivels used on the enter and way ones. So i have made a good few sets on enter, way and game of death ones all usable, still making them as i try to improve each set oh! and they are not wooden ones so uasable and safe. The way ones are a bit of a challange as i have not figured how to make them as chunky as they should be but will keep trying. pity i cant post pics. I am still not sure on the heritage auction ones as the swivel system is not correct, maybe they were made but neve used. Excellent video as always.

Superb video Stripey, and excellent information as well. I totally agree that the Bob Wall GOD chucks are fake. As are the last ones from Enter the Dragon since your photos clearly show them covered in vinyl and not wood. All four Enter nunchuks are seen all together in one shot only when Bruce has his back to the prison bars. Stupid story for you. I went to the Seni show in 2014 after working a 12 hour night shift so arrived after lunchtime. Paid £15 parking and walked around the ExCell centre for half an hour before finding I was at the wrong venue. Seni used the same poster as the previous year and I didn't realise. Missed not only the Bruce display but an excellent demo by SGM Danny Guba of Doce Pares with who I was training with at the time. To say I was pissed off doesn't come close.😠

Very informative video. Just my opinion, I'm not totally convinced that some of those auction pieces are what they've claimed to be. Also, the "Way Of The Dragon" replicas look way too big. We should keep in mind that Bruce Lee was only 5' 7". I think what makes the original, "Way" nunchaku look so big is the padding. They do look to have more padding than the others. To my eye, they look to be the same kind of stick used as the pairs made for "Enter The Dragon". Just my opinion.

Great research Stripey 😊 I still have the hexagonal wooden nunchakus I bought in 🤔 1977 🤔 hanging up in the home gym. I used to do the ETD routine too, but it's been a long time since I last tried. I don't believe Bob Wall's claim either. The GOD nunchakus were super light and like you said, where are the photos of Bob Wall on set or authenticated records that he was there. He was always hanging around Bruce whenever he could for fame by association and a chance to make some money out of the relationship (just like RC), so where's the evidence?

The wooden nunchaku from GOD were actually used in one shot only when they were dropped to the floor and I do believe them to be genuine. I've owned a set of the original Game Of Death nunchaku prop from George Lee's private collection for many years so am inevitably fascinated by the subject.

Interesting, was the drop to the floor in the 72 Bruce Lee shot or the 78 Robert Clouse film? It's must be amazing to have a pair created by George Lee. That's so cool 😎 Cheers 👍

theGOD scene with the "drop" is the 1978 pair ! The Green Hornet ones are still in the hands of collector Perry Lee . All others here are fake . The FOF vinyl set just went for USD 165.000 ! The SENI ITEMS , including the signatures etc all fake . courtesy of a certain American BL historian . Barrington Plaza were vinyl , not wooden. I will send some info to your Twitter !

@@StripeyR That is a question I've been pondering myself for many years. Studying the footage now available I strongly suspect that the wooden nunchaku dropping to the floor scene is from 1978 so not originally part of GOD, would love to be proven wrong though. I took part in George Lee's first ever auction and was attempting to buy Bruce's personal nunchaku but was outbid, George offered me the only other nunchaku he had, he was very concerned that the were a prop and that I wouldn't understand. George did stipulate that the were not screen used and were simply a set he had kept for posterity.

The GOD nunchaku were covered with material and imo never wooden.. maybe in the 78 version .. Wall was never on that set ,

Ahhhh, HKL. Definitely lived up to the 'legend' moniker. The only weakness these releases had was the PQ-it wasn't up to the Fortune Star US releases. The extras more than made up for it though. Great vid about the nunchaku, Stripey. I always had a few extra links to the chain to lengthen the reach on my 'Bruce'-style nunchaku. Much more authentic-looking
