    Just bc someone might happen to look 'perfect' doesn't necessarily mean they're healthy.Taoists are all about following The Way.What your seeing is Bruce's natural body shape(it's simply just how it is).For most of his life he's been practicing Taoist energy arts which has enabled him to attain a high level of Qi development -many Buddhist's might even be inclined to say that his belly is a representation of his accommodating nature! -attaining Buddha hood now that would be true health & fitness

    We are sorry to hear about your problem. Many people have studied karate or TKD for their whole lives without ill effect. Sometimes it has to do with your body type, other times with incomplete instruction. Although we must say that we have seen more elderly people who continually study the soft arts than the hard arts.

    In response to what Bruce said about Tai Chi keeping energy inside, as opposed to karate throwing it out, why is it better to keep the energy inside. After all hitting something is on the outside.

    Bruce seems know what his talking about. I question if he practices what he teaches. I mean isnt tai chi & doing martial arts keep u fit & healthy? then why does he look obese?????

    a lot of older internal arrtists get fat. but you are correct, when he got back from china he started doing a lot of writing, and he neglected some of his practice. on some level, he does practice a lot, but mostly meditation. I see him as not a great example to copy but an excellent source for understanding how to develop internal. it's not bout him looking good, it's about me feeling good, functioning good. in that way, hes a great teacher.

    Because, it is good for your health. Throwing the chi out drains you and is bad for your health.
