Bruce is type of guitarist like an expert guitar teacher that may surprise you because he dominates technique better than it seems, gentle, instructed, cold and calculator. Ace is the guy that you can't explain how or where he learned to play but he actually sounds good making sounds emerge with no rules. Vinnie is the guy that was instructed but then he practiced a lot trying to be the best one, he may be arrogant, but talented..... however i prefer to hear Bruce, because time has proved that he is the most professional guitar player Kiss have worked with (Tommy is too), trying always to print his style in the music he played but always within the frame given before. Long live to the Audio Dog.

By far the best pure guitarist ever in KISS. I'm a huge Ace fan, he's the reason I picked up the guitar. But Bruce is better than any of the others. I've seen all of the KISS guitarist with the exception of Mark St. John. The people who were fortunate enough to see the few shows he played are very lucky. There's no doubt I loved everything Ace, but Bruce runs circles around all of them. Vinnie was a head case who was good, but still not as good as Bruce. Thayer, seems to be a nice guy and a good player, but an Ace clone. This video shows just a small sample of how good Bruce can be.

I agree pretty much with everything you have said with the exception of Thayer. We are cant call him an Ace clone when he was hired to play Ace and hasnt been given the opportunity to show his creative talents.. Im sure he is just as creative as the rest of the guitarists have been. Ive been playing for the plus side of 30 years and i wouldnt want someone boxing me in to a category just for taking opportunity of a life time.

@@oldmanpatriot1490 Well, with the attempt to use less space to convey a thought, I think I was trying to say the same thing. Thayer in "Black N Blue" played well. I've seen him just jamming and he's good. I don't fault him for taking the gig, it's certain Ace wasn't coming back, so why not live the dream. Bruce, amazes me every time he cuts loose! "Carnival of Souls" was a project that he had major input into and he shined. But he has since day one! I've been playing a long time as well, since around '77? Many guitarist have impressed me, Bruce can hang with any of them.

@@oldmanpatriot1490 when Thayer plays in kiss he is an ace clone, as for kulick he always puts his style in the music. When he played some of the older songs got the essence of the ace solos, but u know it is kulick.

Bruce makes me wish he was the original guitar player after Ace left. Just imagine Bruce in the studio for records like COTN, Lick It Up, Animalize. He would have given a great spin on those albums if he was the guitar player rather than Vinnie and Mark.

I love the guy but not him making a carriere out of mediocre albums 30+ years ago. If he had real talent he would have moved on to other things at least 20 years ago. But he is still milking that short time he had in KISS. He has a lot of loyal fans but doesn`t use that to move on. It`s a real waste of opportunity.
