Bruce Campbell: Reddit Ask Me Anything

Фильм және анимация

upvoted.com/video/bruce-campbe...
With an astounding 116 acting credits to his name, Bruce Campbell has seen-and played-it all. Many people probably know him best from The Evil Dead universe, where he plays the chainsaw-handed Ash Williams. This past Halloween, Starz unveiled their latest series, Ash vs. Evil Dead. In it, Campbell reprises his illustrious role-but this time as a PTSD-riddled Ash. The show was created and executive produced by original Evil Dead creator Sam Raimi.

As a youngling, I had the opportunity to spend about 6 hours with Bruce. He was signing about 2,000 copies of "How to Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way" for my uncle's publishing company. There was a miscommunication where he thought he was going to sign a few dozen books at an event, not 2,000 copies in an assembly line fashion, but he was totally cool and cordial. I brought him stacks of the book and would take the signed copies from him to another table, and during that duty he dubbed me his "little minion". I was about 10-years-old and totally star-struck, having grown up watching Evil Dead's and Army of Darkness (and playing the PS1 and PS2 Evil Dead games), and loving his cameo in the first Spiderman movie (giving Spiderman his name!). After he finished all the books, he signed my siblings and my own Army of Darkness and Evil Dead posters, a pack of Army of Darkness playing cards, and my Farlane action figure of Ash vs. The Pit Witch. After all these years and many item purges and moves, I still have the unopened action figure box, signed "Griffin, Stay Groovy, Bruce Campbell". He told us that the cards and action figures were way cool, but had no idea they existed and definitely wasn't receiving any royalties from all that merchandise. I will cherish that memory and will always, always be a fan of Bruce.

That would mean he gave peter the spider-man name, stopped him from entering MJ’s play because he was late, also kinda giving out a hint (albeit, a pretty awesome dead giveaway) that he was Q.B. by saying “entering and interrupting the theater would *ruin the illusion* “.....and he also helped out Peter by getting everything else set up for his marriage offer to MJ.💍 Spiderman and Mysterio DO make the Best of Buddies, don’t they?🤔 especially, if they’re played by Tobey Maguire and Bruce Campbell. Almost forgot he also helps out Spidey in the video games as the narrator... love those games.

I was at a screening for "My Name is Bruce" where he did a Q&A afterwards, and I was surprised at the restraint he showed. I'd just finished reading "If Chins Could Kill", and just about every question could have been answered with "READ MY BOOK". Instead, he basically answered all of them, verbatim. Saw him at Comic Con a few years later, and he was obviously having a much better time of it. I don't know if it was because the people asking questions weren't complete bellends, or if (and I'm basing this on what it cost to be there, and see him) he was just making bank by being there, but he was incredibly jovial, just hamming it up and (appeared to be) having a great time.

Such a good guy, probably one of the nicest people in the business, based on my very limited interaction with him and just every interview i've seen him do. Hope we can look forward to him sticking around for the foreseeable future

It's kinda awesome how humble he is about his career. A lot of actors let the fans' adoration go to their heads. It's great that he really hasn't forgotten where he came from :) Love your work, Mr. Campbell!

Bruce is amazing. he's hilarious, he's versatile, he's humble about it. man, i would never wish to impose on this absolute legend but, if i could go for beers with one movie star, i think this dude would be it. he's so genuine and amazingly cool.
