    Bruce is the man for sure. A lifetime of experience has no rival. His lighting lectures have taught me, so much. Of course I had to watch them several times, I'm an idiot, but when you start to understand, it's hard to stop wanting to know more. In this video he discusses a lot about hydro and how much of this and not too much of that, really confuses a guy without that experience or time to do trial and error. I just wanted to add that for me, I do know that plants have been on this planet for millions of years. They know what to do. All they need is the right building blocks found in organic soil. Keep your soil fully alive and they will do the rest. Without measuring PH, without measuring fake nutrients, without trial and error. Feed the soil biology natural nutrients and minerals and your plants will flourish. And remember...the best fertilizer, is the farmers shadow. Thanks for all you've done and do Bruce.

Interveinal chlorosis of new growth, greens right up with some extra iron in a foliar spray. so I assumed iron deficiency.?

  • @Barbarossa485

    @Barbarossa485

    9 ай бұрын

    How to lower ? Nitrogen is main macronutrient, all other elements are not needed in that amount. The number that you see on bottles in flowering are not with lower N , those are ratios they just pump unnecessary P and K so they can sell you another bottle . Multiple studies shown more N bigger yield , more yield bigger mass and less concentrated secondary metabolism ( canabinoids and terpens ) , 150 N ppm is golden spot where u match production and quality. Most companies are in those range , Athena is running 150ppm N too in their formula

  • @odaharry

    @odaharry

    Calcium is needed more to grow stems and leaves. You wanna grow buds in flower so not making it put effort into up taking calcium should let it use that energy towards bud growth . @sixmillionsilencedaccounts3517

    Жыл бұрын

    @@odaharryCalcium is the main component needed to make pectin which is a glue that connects cell walls. You need Calcium unless you want to argue that plants don't increase biomass weight during flowering which they do a lot. Considering Botrytis the only way to prevent it is controlled environment (humidity, VPD, air circulation) or chemical fungicide. Organic fungicides just don't work. You need quality fungicide that is systemic since Botrytis is a systemic disease, it attacks the plant from within the buds. Systemic fungicide enters the plant tissue and spreads inside the entire plant even in the new shoots. Can't be washed off after 1-2 few hours after application. Organics can't do that. It only kills spores that are outside on the leaves/buds but spores are everywhere in the air, it won't do much after it dries out. Once a spore enters the plant (via damaged parts of the leaves) it travels through the stem and tries to find spots with the best condition = humidity (big colas), than you're screwed. If you want to go chemical I recommend Switch (from Swiss company Syngenta), it's probably the most effective fungicide out there designed specifically for Botrytis. It's certified as very safe (last application 3-10 days before harvest) and it's used in the US, Australia or New Zeland.

    No matter you're preference, your ppm reading is literally taking an e.c. reading and doing math conversion to give you ppms. No matter what you, are refering to your e.c. when you say ppm.

    With all the respect i am not trying to discredit the professor. But talking about the PH and not mention Alkalinity , the PH of the solution doesn’t mean anything, absolutely anything! If you are a bit more advanced level you need to talk about alkalinity : water alkalinity , fertilizer potential acidity or basicity, nitrogen form and etc . 6.5 PH means nothing , one solution can have 6.5 PH and have high alkalinity so it will affect the PH medium . Or same 6.5 can be without so it will not affect the medium . Maybe he wants to simplify things , but this is bad explanation.

    To me it sounds totally crazy to do research on cannabis that's growing in soil. I'd thought that coco is the one medium favored by every advanced grower who doesn't want to go into hydro. I mean, simply the control over nutrient intake as well as the reusability of the medium( mind you that we're talking about 1000s of litres of soil being thrown away every grow when you're in a lab researching on a larger scale - that's wasted space and wasted money! ) make it seem like a clear choice for studying, especially when adding Co2 enrichment which needs a corresponding, exact rise of nutrients in the medium that's much harder to achieve in soil than it is in coco. Oh well... edit: Nooooo, it's not 'different medias', you bonzo. Hearing that makes one shiver. 'Me interview, me sound smart, me use-a dem big boy words!!!!'?

    That would be hilarious 😂 but that was the way it was like the 90s or so. But since the 2010s or so the universitys started gaining access to "legit" strains of "commercially available" strains. Basically they could buy some dispensary level seeds versus the old seeds.
