The A-10 Warthog is basically a gun with a plane attached. It is a ground support plane and that's what it should be used for.

This is the video that got me into Arma 3. I looked for more videos and fell in love. I've since bought all the DLC and set up my controllers for flight only. I wish I could afford the Logitech flight stick you use, but that will have to wait. I got tired of playing through the old Battlefield and Call of Duty campaigns. I had the difficulties maxed every time and even with Battlefield 3 and 4 where I didn't have the campaigns memorized I still breezed through everything. I found myself using ridiculous weapon combos just for a challenge. Like the shotgun and pistol even on long range engagements. I needed a better challenge. Arma 3 has delivered for sure. Large Scale dynamic campaigns and much more realistic fighting. Wish I had found this game sooner.

I don't know if someone told you but to lock on to lasers you have to select the gbu (mini nukes) then press R or T (it changes between drones and planes) while scanning lazed area from quite a ways out at a high altitude. once the symbol is solid white, drop the bomb.

Oh man, that was some painful target locking at the beginning. You realize pressing 2 on your keyboard will list everything you can lock, and let you select them individually, yeah? Just keep a numpad by your joysticks.

You could always start playing now;) trust me the franchise is just incredible, watch out for football stadiums in case your team mate has to crash into it

the 30mm in the a10 is about 7 foot long and that is what stalls the aircraft and makes that sound when it shoots due to the length of the barrel

Use the laser with the gbu's you lock the lase with a square then once the secondary square making the diamond it means drop the bomb and it will guide it in

Im assuming you are better at this poin(months later)t, but decent flying. Not great, but better than most. Also the a-10 is a CAS beast and is well renowned for its danger close capabilities. Granted you need ground troops who are capable of carrying a smoke grenade or laser designating. So it sucks that you would be relagated to fly around in circles, when you could be so useful. Great videos though and you earned yourself a subscriber.

One question I have some problem with landing with A-10 and some other planes Any tips like how much speed I should have when I'm about to land how should the flaps be, you know those stuff

Hi Drewski, I also have an x52. What setting and button mapping do you use for Arma 3, and do you use the control mapper software?

So, do you know how to pick up lased targets now? :P Not too great of a flyer here, but when selecting GBUs you can only lock onto lased targets, possibly? :P

GBUs are GPS guided, so no on the lazing.

If you lock on fire then switch will that missile continue locked onto it's target?

I think you can lock the GBU's onto the laser designated targets if im not mistaken. but you may know already by now ;p

Do you recommend a 6600k for Arma? I've gotten my new memory kit and my GTX 1070 already, so Skylake or newer is really what my options are. I would like to stay under $300 for a processor. I also have a 360mm AIO cooler, so overclocking is definitely in my mind.

Shall i buy thr x52 becuz the x-55 and x-56 have those cable problems

salsa4everable the game is single and multiplayer with tons of mods and whatnot. And the ceiling is like at least 20-30k meters

Solid flying work. How do you like that joystick? I have one of the generic Logitech ones, can't use it for jets without adjusting it. Haven't gotten around to that yet, so I primarily pilot helicopters.

+TheKwazza It's definitely worth the investment, very smooth throttle and joystick control, I especially like turning down the sensitivity so i can fine-tune shots :D Yeah i had to manually adjust for jets as well, it wasn't preset.

The 390X is your problem, arms 3 is very GPU heavy. I have also heard that Arma has problems with AMD.

Hey, let me give you some insight into how ARMA's engine works. First off, lowering your settings will put more stress on the CPU, just keep that in mind. Arma is no where near optimized, the game is for the most part, running 99% on 1 core. Which is the most crummy thing ever, you can do some command lines to try to change this up abit, but really it does not do too much in the long run. I would spend a lot of time just doing everything you can till you find a sweetspot for your computer. Lowering your settings as mentioned before, will put more work onto the CPU, but in arma's case it will mean more work for the single core that arma uses, which means worse frames. I had this issue, i am running on a AMD FX 8320 with a 780, and I was getting the worst FPS ever on the low settings, changed it to basically maxed out, and suddenly got 60 outside of towns and 40 inside towns. With more tweaking I am sure I can get that better.

Only AMD users have issues with single core processing. Arma uses all Intel. Also, the Arma 3 engine doesn't put more stress on CPU. I've done tests. I have a i7-4790k @4.6 GHz and a GTX 980 Ti.
