Back in the late 70's/80's when DTL was the premier discipline, before Sporting caught on here in the UK, the most popular mid priced gun by far on the trap circuit was the Miroku 800W. Anyone with a bigger wallet would go for a Perazzi or similar. The fist trap gun i had was a Miroku 600 ORE 30" f/f with a Monti Carlo and although it was rather plain in comparison to an 800 it was a dream to shoot and won me some comps. I just wish Miroku would fit ventilated mid ribs on the MK38, no idea why not.🤔

Miroku wins hands down, there is a reason why browning doesn't want the Mk10 in Uk as it will completely kill their 525 sales, here in Aus Miroku built such a good name for themselves through early 70s they dominate the sales here, both guns are excellent, browning costs more grade to grade and can have nicer looks/more accessories in some guns, Miroku has more shooters gun feel

Having worked in metal recycling for over 30 years, I am somewhat puzzled at the ''new steel' v 'recycled steel. " There are many different grades of steel, but I haven't encountered one that doesn't incorporate secondary materials i.e. recycled i.e scrap. I may be wrong, but my suspicion would be that any increased likelihood of a Browning rusting is more likely to be as a result of the blueing/blacking process. It's surely unlikely that the factory would make effectively the same product in different grades of steel?

I am really enjoying your reviews Matt but I think your history is a bit dodgy. Browning's close association with FN came after Winchester refused to pay a royalty for what became the Browning Auto 5 after previously purchasing most of Browning designs with a once off payment. After the President of Remington died of a heart attack just prior to meeting him, Browning negotiated successfully with FN for a royalty agreement for the A-5. Browning had previously sold designs to the FN concern beginning with the model 1899 pistol. Browning went to Herstal to supervise the initial production of the A-5 and stayed. The Browning Superposed was not the first OU shotgun the design having been around for centuries. The design was actually completed by his son Val after John Browning died. I believe the Parker Hale guns were manufactured by Olin Kodensha and are based on the Nikko/Winchester 101 design. The BC in the Miroku name is for Bukichi (Bukichi Miroku first President ) and Chiyoki (Second President Ido Chiyoki)
