Also I tried piecing with my brother and the top fabric keeps shifting downward 😢even with pins. I would use walking foot but then I don’t have the 1/4” guide. Any suggestions? Does it make sense that the stitches in my straight stitch also appear more straight and prettier with the walking foot than the regular j foot?

What is the name of the foot with the blade?
