The weather was atrocious. Very expensive. They all look immaculate and still look brand new. Just fabulous.

I cannot tell if you were more excited to be on the launch in the water or seeing all these beautiful boats. The older boats were certainly loved by their owners judging by the good condition they have been maintained in. Such a shame you had to endure the bad weather.

Every boat still looked brand new. I loved every second of that day, it was fabulous. 🛥️🛥️🛥️🛥️

Some lovely looking vessels there and the little electric launch you were on i think is just perfect for the broads....

I think it’s more suited to sunshine ☀️ 😂 but yes it’s perfect for the broads. It looked incredible and was just perfect on the day.

You can hear a few of them but with peoples conversations I can’t let them be heard. Plus there’s the rain and the people I’m filming for, asked for all the boats details to be included. Hope that explains why. 🛥️

Great video again, what a fantastic sight. Broom's boats are such beautiful well made boats. Did I hear right that they have stopped making boats? If so that's such a shame

You are quite correct, they have stopped making boats. The company is presently up for sale, possibly sold. 🤷🏻‍♀️🛥️ I’m pleased you enjoyed this video, thank you.

Wow, never seen a procession like that before. Thank you for filming it Lisa. Didn't the old wooden cruiser look good. Obviously well cared for. I'll be on the broads myself in the third week of July. First time for many years. I'll give you a wave if I see you.

The old wooden Broom was Papaver 1957 previously Captain Voss. We weren't part of the Pageant but just on our way out. Thanks for liking us though. 😊

Enjoyed that Leasa. So sorry for the organisers of the Broom Rally.....awful weather after all the effort with the boats 'dressed over all'. The 'CL' and 'OS' derivatives after the Broom boat length/model, mean Coastal and Off-Shore. Coastal for port hopping and inland waters, and Off-Shore for passage making....North Sea crossings and English Channel for example. Offshore generally have bigger engines (so faster), and a greater freeboard (height above the water line), and hull shape to cope with rougher weather/wave height. Those little Mayfly launches are ideal for pottering about the broads on day trips. Its a shame there weren't any of the wonderful Timber Broom Boats, ranging from the little Broom Robb - 'Jenny Wren' to Mackintosh family's 'Albert of Blofield', and Jamie Oliver's varnished hull 'Katinka'. There was one lovely classic Broom Captain 'Papaver'- from the late 50's, 6 minutes into the video making an appearance, but sadly, (seemingly), not in the rally. Of the modern Brooms the 50 is my favourite model....especially the navy blue hulled 'Born to Boogie' example.
