Bronny James Faces Off With The Best Freshman In Hawaii!

Sierra Canyon had their hands full in their second games vs the home squad in the 'Iolani Classic! Jason Mandaquit aka JJ was Cookin vs the best team in the country! Bronny James was effective in this one when he had his chance, but quick fouls weren't in the young kings favor. Ramel Lloyd & Kijani Wright stepped up huge in this game! One thing for sure is Hawaii has a star on the island and it won't take long for the rest of the country to hear about it!

The team from Hawaii is very well coached. Except for one thing. They need to block out. Because of the size disadvantage they are not going to get every rebound so they need to be aggressive and block out.

I've been watching quite a few of Bronny's game videos, and I've noticed that Bronny possesses a very high basketball iq, and he almost, always plays under control! He has a very reliable jumpshot, from within the 3 PT. line, as well as, behind the 3 PT line! The young man attacks the rim on offense, and consistently crashes the glass for rebounds the defensive, and offensive glass as well! However, the thing that really impressed me the most about his game, was his uncanny ability to pass the ball to the right teammate at the right time, and keep the offense rolling forward! He knows when shoot and also knows when to pass! As long as he can maintain his overall health, I see this young man going real far! Bronny got game, that's for sure!

@@Qwik11Hoops Yes, my family purchased the leasehold for a unit behind Iolani (Laau Street) in the mid 90s, since the land owner at the time was motivated to sell the fee simple. 'Iolani "snatched" the fee from all the owners on the street. Now, they are displacing everyone (handicap families, single retired individuals, Native Hawaiian families (my 'ohana), and Micronesian families) to house their service faculty (not teachers). It's like we are reliving the oligarchy of 1893: stealing the land and kicking them out of their homes.

Feel the same, in my opinion i feel like his handles needs work if they want him to play PG, His first step is still kinda hesitant to me, watch him tryin to break down a pure defensive player takes more then a few dribbles, yea he is effective, but its easier to say that he is because he has 4 other good teammates that are 5star players..put him with average highschool teammates will see how his skill shows…

Bronny needs to working on getting by his defender with a pick. He’s quick enough and strong enough to do that. Also, it seems like the coach didn’t utilize his bigs enough. They should’ve beaten that team by 40pts, not because that team wasn’t good but because Sierra has more elite players. I think they just played the wrong style of basketball on offense.

First off, there have only been a few players born Hawai'i to have ever played in the NBA..the best of them, by far, was forward Cedric Ceballos, who was born on Mau'i--Ceballos was a great NBA player--truly an elite class pro...so, although #23, JJ, appears to be an excellent player, particularly for a freshman--the odds of him going onto to ever play in the NBA are really very slim--although I definitely do wish him great future success...'Iolani is Hawai'i's traditional powerhouse high school basketball team...I thought they did about as well as might be expected, even with home court advantage, against Sierra Canyon, one of the best teams in the country...as to Brony, I haven't seen anything particularly special about him as a point guard playing at the highest level of high school basketball...however, I do feel he's a very solid player...&, it's a virtual certainty, in my opinion, that a D1 school will pick him up...&, that he will eventually be given an opportunity to play in the NBA...the simple fact that he can hold his own, & his father is Lebron James, is going to guarantee him a shot--even if that someday means that the only team to hire him will be the Lakers...to think otherwise is foolhardy---it's like thinking the child of Bill Gates couldn't get hired @ Microsoft because he or she wasn't smart enough...Brony will get his opportunity--that's for sure! Go Vulcans!!
