Bronco Prerunner Build - Knucklehead Garage
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
On this episode of Knucklehead Garage we finally get started on the much anticipated Prerunner Bronco Build. We begin with ripping all of the factory suspension components off this mint 1995 Ford Bronco. Then we start throwing on the Desolate Motorsports Ford Bronco Prerunner suspension components, a custom Wide 9 stuffed with Yukon Gear and Axle Goodies. Some Power Stop Brakes, a Redhead Steering Box, and some Deaver Leaf springs to match. We might have went a bit overboard on budget with the Radflo shocks but we think it will be worth it! Not to mention the Method Race Wheels wrapped with Falken Tires. Big thanks to all of the companies that support Making Broncos Great Again! If you ever wondered how to build a prerunner out of a Bronco this is how.

With the front TTB after my first shakedown an 80 mile poker run. I did some rebuilding. I had cut and turned lift and long chomemoly radius arms on heims already. I gusseted and plated the beams added bigger top and bottom plates and a vertical mounts to the radius arms mount to the beams. I changed my spindles to 96 models with bolt on calipers over the hammer in clips. Put in the F250 slip shaft with F 250 U joint and got chromoly shafts. Longer outer shafts to change my factory only hubs to Warn on my year (manual hubs are strongest). All fresh U joints seals and ball joints plus rebuilt calipers and upgraded rotors with my still new bearings. The VERY IMPORTANT part was to cycle each side and clear any binds spinning the wheels in 4x4 from all positions up and down and steering directions . It took some time and grinding but got it all cleared gained travel and set my limit straps and bumps. It paid off and has been bulletproof in surprises and smooth with my Kings. Funny King is local and at contingency for the Mint 400 I set off to thank Bret for my shock tuning. When back at home looking at pics my girl took I see a close pick of BJ Baldwin. I say nice pic she mentions the kids in it I said do you know who this is when did you take it ? She does not know and I tell her. She says oh I took it when you had us on the misson to the King trailer. LOL I thanked Bret King and was introduced to The King himself both were happy with big smiles for my thanks. I told her BJ may have wanted to come with or pass on a thanks from him as he runs Kings LMAO You will be very stoked with your Bronco and this level of build doing it right.

Would it be crazy to make a bronco long bed?😃
@brianbirc
4 жыл бұрын
@@nauidiver227 They did make them.There are four door full size Broncos not considered a bed that would make it a truck also some made with 4 doors and a long bed. Not the best off road but maybe for some built huge like a monster muddin truck but do not count on my comment for that I am not a mudder only do that if needed.

awesome. I owned a 84 Bronco for 20 years that I installed a mild lift into and other performance mods. I always wanted to build a pre-runner but even tho I didnt, that Bronco was the best multi purpose vehicle I ever owned. I drove it on numerous road trips and off roaded thousands of miles and it never once left me stranded. I always prefer a carb over efi for doing emergency diagnose and repairs. Just lower the float level and rejet for elevation and bouncy rides. Keep on wrenching!

That's some awesome products. I run a 88 bronco, it's a trail truck that sees mud , rocks, gravel forestry roads, deep snow bogging and lots of fishing and hunting. So it's got a 408w with 650 Holley double pumper, hei, np435 with 6.68to1 ratio 1st gear, np208 t case cuz it's the slowest. 1990 f350 axles. D60 n sterling 10.25 4.10 ratio. Both locked. Deaver 6 inch leafs and coils up front. Cage off road radius arms. I run 15x39.5x15 tsl s up front grooved and 18x39.5x15 boggers out back grooved. And for gravel n street I run 37x13.50x18 nitto mud grapplers on KMC xd809 wheels. Lots n lots of other mods. So 10 years running hard, hundreds of small jumps n crawling rocks with no issues. It's been such a tough rig. Love it

hell yea falken wildpeaks! I just put a set of 33x12.50x15 wildpeaks on my bronco and they look like they should have came on it from the factory. Also those radius arms and skidplate are beautiful. I wish I could afford that skid, my bronco is stock and even though I don't offroad much I am always catching either the skid or the trailer hitch on all sorts of stupid shit and that aluminum skid looks like it's way sturdier and tucks up more neatly than the ugly stock skid.

I’d be curious to see what your opinion is on bronco vs the jku....I get the jku can rock climb and all that but I’m currently looking for an off-road toy just for trail riding do not do any rock climbing or anything....I trail ride with my brother (raptor) other brother (JLUR) and other friends jku and I want to build a somewhat budget off-roader debating between this and older jku (with the 3.8) or tj because it will be just toy not a DD....just like the idea of the extra room of the jku but they are expensive even for older ones that’s why I think the bronco would be a cheaper alternative (I get suspension isn’t cheap but the buy is) I just enjoy jeeps (I own a CJ7) because of the open air feel but you have the half cab with the bronco I’d like to know your thoughts after she all put together would you rather have the bronco or a jku for trail riding not for rock climbing Thank you and keep up the good work !
