Broken guitar amp to cab conversion
Музыка
This is a quick video about how to convert a broken combo amp into a guitar cabinet (if the speaker is still working, that is). In this case we are dissecting my trusty Marshall Mosfet 100 Reverb. It's a great solid state amp, that we are trying to lighten a bit by removing all the internal 'amp' parts.

1/4" jack
Hey mate, but Is there a way to make the jack output of the cabinet out? Like a 2x12. I'm asking because i have a 75' reverb which Is really heavy, and i would like to separate them without soldering Every time. Thank you very much and Sorry for my bad english!
Been looking to modding a working small combo into a head only. Basically taking the chassis out. I didn’t put much thought into the left over cab and speaker so I might do something like this so there isn’t much waste. Did you decide to leave the amp chassis in the cab to just make it easier to reuse the jack and mount for it? I am thinking about just making a larger baffle since I am wanting reusing the chassis too. Don’t know if I missed the reason why you went that route. Thanks for the video and the idea!
This video is exactly what I was looking for. Did you use one of the 1/4" jacks already in the amp for the input jack or did you use a different one? I'm doing this to a 1st-gen Peavey Envoy 110 and wondering whether I can just re-wire the speaker cables to one of the 1/4" jacks already in the back of the amp or if I need to use a completely different one.

hi, i used one of the existing 'speaker out' jacks, where you would connect the extension cab.

could i use a foot switch jack on the back of my amp?
How did it sound after the conversion versus how it sounded as an amp? I realize your head has it’s own character but did you notice any similarities with how it sounded as an amp? I ask because I have an old Crate amp that sounded great when it worked but is beyond repair. I was hoping if converted to a cab that it would retain sound quality it had before.
Can we use it direct cabinet to multi effect pedal without using head?

no, you will need some kind of amplification.
What do you think of the Ibanez head ? Has that got the ts circuitry built in?

If you’re speaker has enough ohms to take from your head then I would say yes
Is it an active or passive cabinet?

passive. no amp parts left.
A couple of replacement capacitors would be a cheap fix
I cringed when he soldered the wires to the speaker without protecting the speaker cone.
