    Hey David, thanks for the comment. We drive with the gas engine so little I'm not sure when I'll need to do that anytime soon honestly! We are currently sitting at 80MPG because most of our driving is within 15-20 miles...

    Honestly I’ve looked and couldn’t really see the one behind the motor drive. With the lower mount removed (or broken like mine) you can easily rock the engine back and forth which helps to show where the engine is pivoting.

    One on either side of the engine bay, the engine hangs from them. The passenger side one is hydraulic and can leak fluid, it's near the coolant degas reservoir, the transmission (driver's side) one is under the transmission computer (TCU.)

    I brought my CMAX to the dealer, it got 22-2396 error code according to the dealer. But they never checked Engine Mount, but replaced fuel system drier, brake flui, spark plugs, installed air cleaner, frigi charge, and mass air flow sensor cleaner which I do not believe contributed to the origin of the problem.

    @@DansWay I haven’t I only replaced the one you showed and turns out car still shakes and it’s because of the upper transmission mount + motor mount because they both degrade at the same time and it’s harder and more expensive to replace

    My car may have similar problem. I noticed similar noise when braking in D and R. Did you also experience any clunk or rattle over large bumps? Here is video of the movement I'm seeing. I wasn't able to move the rear transmission mount by hand easily like you are able. kzread.info/dash/bejne/aqKNy6iBY7u_fbg.html Did it fix the noise you hear while braking?

  • @DansWay

    @DansWay

    Hey nice video. I'm not sure the movement there is abnormal at all. I don't recognize the clucking noise myself. Do you hear this noise when just rolling over speed-bumps, or perhaps when dropping off a small ledge (driveway to dirt). I've had bad sway-bar bushings cause a clunking that took a while to figure out. Struts were fine, but bushings where allowing bar to move up-down 1/8" creating a clunk.

  • @chrisx742

    @chrisx742

    @@DansWay Yes, over steep speed bumps, small ledges, potholes I hear a clunking in the CMAX. Did you have that issue in your CMAX, or in another car? When I replaced the lower control arms on my CMAX I pryed on the sway bar and didn't see any movement in the bushings, although that doesn't mean there isn't any.

  • @DansWay

    @DansWay

    @@chrisx742 I was working on a Camry, but similarly I couldn't figure out how to see the issue. I pushed and pulled and couldn't get visibility on the problem. If you jack up the car so that both front tires are off the ground, then put a pri-bar under the bar just next to the bushing you might get some movement. I haven't replaced them on my C-Max. You might also try rocking the car back/forth really hard to get the bar to transition from push/pull on either side to see if you can replicate the noise. Let us know what you find!

  • @chrisx742

    @chrisx742

    @@DansWay Another question, if you don't mind. The noise might be from my steering rack or tie rods. The problem is, when I attempt to diagnose by jacking the vehicle and pushing/pulling at 9 and 3, the steering wheel also moves. Everything I have read says that the steering rack typically stays in place, but on mine, it moves when I shake the wheels, which makes it difficult to diagnose a loose tie rod. Does your steering wheel move when you push/pull on the wheels? (just need to jack up one front corner to test.) This would help me to know if there is a problem with my steering rack.
