The fact alone Brock considers red death “a little bit scary” just shows how dangerous red death is, because Brock has been in explosions, fought two sharks and was almost ejected into space.

They spoke about sharing intel. Also OSI said they had an agent in the guild. That agent is Dr GF.

Sheila being unable to tell which of the 2 would win a serious fight and Brock admitting that Red Death is "just a little scary" paints a pretty vivid picture of how terrifying the guy is.

Honestly, it could go both ways depending on whom you're talking about.

It's not a question of "could" he take him, it's a matter of could he live in a world without Red Death in it? Also, everybody's talking about Brock's reaction, but Dr Girlfriend's reluctance to weigh in on the odds are even more telling. She has been watching Brock murder her husband's cohorts for years, buried an untold number of guild operatives slain by his hand, and is most assuredly aware of the guild inside term "Death by Samson". She's seen everything he's capable of and has even fantasized about him absolutely wrecking her basement plumbing. The fact that she knows exactly what Brock is, and still can't call the fight, tells me that Red Death is Brock's equal. For such a mild mannered man, that's more frightening than his looks and temper alone.

There is a lot that people don't know about Red Death. We know a lot about Brock's feats, but among Brock's feats is in how he constantly exceeds what we think he's capable of. But Red Death is particularly mysterious and powerful. I'd equate him to Batman with Superpowers. I wouldn't even be sure if he was human, if he didn't have a family. It's telling that even Dr.Mrs.TheMonarch doesn't know a lot about him. I'm sure she knew a lot about Brock, but you can always know more. A lot of what makes Red Death scary is definitely mysticism. What makes him POWERFUL is being a father. And a professional assassin, of course.

It was a begrudging tone. I don't know if he was confident, but it was at least a bit reassuring. Like, "It's not an outright victory, but I got a shot at it." I'm sure it's more-so the creators teasing Red Death's fear factor. That is his MO, and the juxtaposition of his scariness and fatherly love are what makes him compelling. It's good writing if Brock is at least a little scared.

red death wins, hands down. brock is scary but i think his reputation is bigger than he is, both in canon and among irl fans. we've seen brock go down to some seriously dumb stuff, THREE TIMES by the monarch's henchmen alone. In the very first epsode, he gets hit by a truck. Another time, he got shot by some random hood rat in a monarch costume, and woulda died right then if not for phantom limb saving him. And right before the Monarch's wedding, he got jumped by a bunch of drunk idiots and thrown in a prison cell. Again, he IS scary, but put him up against an actual superpowered villain with 30+ more years of experience who shows no signs of aging at all? brock would have to get insanely lucky.

Red Death was so calm during Brocks lecture, as if he was being scolded by a child having a tantrum. Maybe Brock could take him, but we've never seen the full extent of what RD is capable of.

He “do[es] like to kill… “ but he took that seat on the Guild Council specifically for the pension, he loves his wife & daughter, and his daughter is very young so there’s still a lot of parenting for him to do in the future. And since killing Professor Cadmium, he’s got his temper under control and is willing to follow “rules.”

I like the implication of Brock saying he could take Red Death because he's out of his prime. But not necessarily that he could take him if he was in his prime.

This show was a gift, I'm so sad to see it's over. Part of me hopes that enough people buy this straight up that it gets the attention of the folks at the WB, then they can make that eighth season the way they wanted. But if this is where it ends, I think I can live with that.

Haven't seen this yet so hoping it leaves the door open for more. I hope something happens. This show that had three four maybe even five year waits between seasons has never let me down. Peak quality every time. In fact ending is the only thing that it has ever done to let me down and that is the fault of Warner Brothers and their vendetta against Adult Swim and CN

The Guild finally has it's own "Brock" in Red Death. And to be fair, that would be one Hell of a fight.

I felt like that was a dig from Brock at RD that he may be 'getting on in years'.

So excited for this! Another season would have been even better but happy that the story didn’t just get cut off without a resolution.

I watched this the other day, I completely forgot just how brilliant the writing was on the show. I was devastated when it was canceled, but overcome with excitement when I saw the first trailer for this movie. Please, please, PLEASE Cartoon Network, BRING THIS SHOW BACK! The movie was great BTW, 10 out of 10!

RD is 73 and still hucking corpses around one to an arm like a champ. His workout and diet game has got to be on the pointiest point, lol.

Brock sure acted like it, rather than responding to someone trying to help, he seemed like he was trying to stop a gross hobby, lol. Now I'm just imaging the white picket fence warm fuzzy home RD has, and a locked door in the basement to a room filled with just random bodies he's gathered over time, lol.

When Brock Samson of all people is only "pretty sure" he can kill you, you know you're one of the biggest badasses on the planet.

I don't want to beat a dead horse by saying how big of a deal it is for Brock to say he is a bit scared since everyone else already has, but just as a reminder: Brock once had a tank pointed directly on his chest and didn't even flinch claiming he could dodge it, and was fine bleeding to death if it meant that other guy would drown in his blood. The only things that have scared Brock is when the Venture Skyscraper was haunted and Red Death.

Anyone Brock considers "A little bit scary" is not to be trifled with.

We're also forgetting Shoreleave's reactions here. I mean this guy has seen just as much heinous, hellish stuff that any of the tops at O.S.I., including Brock, ever have. Literal hell and horrors from all over the world, supernatural creatures and powers beyond comprehension, and even (briefly) The Investors. And he flat out admits to being terrified of Red Death.

I hope red death is ask the same question and he say “ oh F word no I can’t take him down “

Brock who was confident enough that he could survive a tank canon to the chest is having doubts against Red Death. That's saying something.

Brock said that way back as a consultant for JJ. "The Guild gives them structure. You take that away, and you are looking at a bunch of pissed-off nutbags with laser rifles and some kind of octopus/tank with laser eyes".

Let's be real, Dr-Mrs. The Monarch is having that EXACT conversation with Red Death as they're walking away. Sheila:"Did you think you could take him?" RD:"Sampson, of course...just...ya know?" Sheila:"What?" RD:"It's just, even if I DO take him down, I'm fairly certain he'd take an arm or a leg by the time it's over and I do NOT wanna go back to the wife and tell her that I got into a voluntary fight with Brock Sampson, that's like someone saying they thought they could headbutt a Cannon ball."

Red Death is weighing up his options, you can tell. He's thinking that whilst he could take Brock, he won't come out of it without some degree of injury, potentially fatal, because this is Brock Samson we're talking about. If Red Death were to win, he could be badly maimed or even succumb to his injuries, and who would look after his daughter and wife? Plus, Red Death has said that his wife has made it clear she wants him to retire - his seat on the council is their compromise, and this could be seen as him breaking his promise to not be involved in active villainy if he gets into a fight with a special agent of the OSI.

Ok I’d watch a whole show of these four just being friendly with eachother.

That is a tough call. Yes Red Death is 73, but he still hasnt lost his edge. Brock is still closer to his prime. But the rule of thumb, if the villain has lived so long in this profession, he obviously knows the game. Plus, 21 can give Brock a decent fight, and 21 is scared shitless of Red Death. I would put the odds at 6 to 4, Red death being the 6 in this situation.

It's truly criminal how we don't see more of red death. He's the only villain not scared of Brock and strong enough to actually back up that confidence

I like that both of the OSI's best, and generally most fearless, agents are both varying degrees of afraid of Red Death.

Honestly, I couldn't call it. Brock is... well, Brock. He's an entire category of "Listed Deaths" by himself. Red Death. He's bizarrely efficient despite being a proper schadenfreude villain. He is actually powerful to boot. Most tellingly, Brock questions if he can take him.

So sureal, it's like a coma dream, I get to see my fav characters come to life and send me off to the otherside!

They did a good job tying up loose ends and giving us the big reveal(very much in Venture style), but still left it in a position where more episodes won't be a slap in the face.

Brock Samson vs. Red Death in a real fight? It would be too legendary. We shouldn’t see it ever happen

There's another clue why Brock wouldn't be able to take Red Death: He keeps talking while Red Death stays quiet. Dogs are only loud when they're scared because they want to keep you away. When they're silent, that's when they know they can take you and are just waiting for the excuse.

Mr Krabs seems finally retired from the Krusty Krab and took up an office job, good for him.

As much as I love Brock and how much of a force of nature he is, I can't fathom him winning. Red Death is something else entirely, something more intimidating.

The true terror Red Death provokes. Brock Sampson is only 'Pretty Sure' he could take him.

If we ever get another Venture anything...this fight should be a major focus. A good chunk of it should be how Red Death's powers actually work, and what secrets he could have that make it even more insane for how Brock could win.

I'm giving it to Brock, all day. The man survived being sucked into space, yo.

This is unironically excellent writing both narratively and in character. It backs up everything we've seen about both men, gives nuance to Brock ( a character who could easily be one-note all the time), and is funny besides. Goddamn Venture Bros.' writers are so good.

I could never bet on the red death or Brock Samson. I love em both. And it's so great seeing Shoreleave again. Pro's on the voice acting.

Venture Bros breaking the mold again, Brick Frog was one of their Z list villains (a type of villain that only exists as either a quick opening act *hero defeats them in like 30 seconds and they never show up again or at most is a one-off one episode which would be a Z+ who are sometimes promoted to a regular villain later or is some random design in the background to fill seats to make a villain crowd look bigger which Brick Frog was).

How much money do we need to give adult swim to make this fight a reality?!

The question isn't who can beat who, the question should be how many people are gonna be left after these two throw down. The only reason I think Red didnt jump on Samson for lecturing him (other than professional courtesy he understands Brocks just doing his job) is that he knows a fight between the two of them would turn into something akin to the Peter vs the Chicken fights in the amount of collateral damage they'd cause
