Haters just didn't want the raiders to have him. He was the best player available. And one of the very best tight ends to play college football ever. He is a beast!

Michael Mayer is a great player. More of a traditional in line tight end. Bowers can block... But he's a weapon that can be lined up in the slot and out wide. Elite weapon

Two years in a row of drafting a TE in the 1st rd...Mayer showed signs of being a good TE so its interesting to see who will start the season at TE

Mayer played started and got better every week so idk if you knowledgeable about him to say he didn’t do anything… also Pierce likes to run the ball so lot of 2 TE sets. Mayer had a play last year that he pancaked Khalil Mack so maybe he’s just much better blocker than vertical threat bowers isn’t he’s a WR trapped in a TE body
