We visit Broadway in The Cotswolds, England for a walk through this beautiful village.
No Cotswolds trip is complete without a visit to explore Broadway, and to see the landmarks, tourist attractions or simply to have afternoon tea in one of the pretty tea shops and restaurants here.
Broadway is situated in Worcestershire and nestled into the Cotswolds in England and is a place visited by tourists all year round who come to learn the history of the place, to take photos on the high street or to enjoy a stay in one of the historic hotels and inns.
Often referred to as The Jewel Of Broadway, the main feature is the wide and long high street that's home to some amazing places to eat, places to stay or places to shop. Just wandering down the high street in the sunshine is fantastic but quite honestly it's also home to some of the best places to eat in the Cotswolds!
The village is nestled in what is a nationally recognised as an Area of Outstanding Beauty and you can certainly tell when you arrive. It's stunning! So beautiful! The village is considered a huge tourist attraction here in the UK and you can often catch tourists and visitors exploring the streets of this beautiful village.

Close to the village is Broadway Tower which is one of the best places to visit in the Cotswolds and It's one of England's outstanding viewpoints - I've done a separate video on Broadway Tower.

A lovely walk, here is a bit more info about Broadway. The 'broad way' is the main street, lined with red chestnut trees. It is situated on the main route between Oxford & Worcester, the village developed because of the stagecoach trade. Both King Charles and Oliver Cromwell stayed here at different times. A bevy of artists have visited Broadway and they are, William Morris, Frank Millet, who lived at Farnham House and died in the great Titanic disaster; J M Barrie, Vaughan Williams and Elgar- all drew inspiration from the line and form, texture and composition of what was then the typical English village.

Broadway was a lovely town. Thank you for stopping a moment at the sweets/lolly/confectionery shop. Took us back years. The nice wider streets are what I am used to in the towns & small cities I lived in growing up. ♥️

@@GimbalWalkTV the rule was two per day, & it took half an hour to ride down to the shops. You can imagine the time spent drooling 🤤 over which ones to try.

Why you wrote "it was"? Is not anymore? I remember Broadway about 22+ years ago and I think that most of it is still on there... Certainly, some roads are now slightly wider and most of the old houses & shops got restored but Broadway did not lose anyghing of previous charm! The only plague - I'd say - are those endlessly arriving excursions with japanese& another tourists which are leaving lots of rubbish everywhere. As well I regret our Budgens superstore which now got occupied by Coop what never means the same. But still we have that village market at Willersey so is not too bad. Lloyds Bank office was cancelled a couple of yrs ago but well, is not too far to Cheltenham or Evesham when necessary. Ah, the Christmas shop stopped at some point and this was just the first step to disgrace for the town so famous because of this shop!

Less cars than East Grinstead.Nicer looking buildings.
Together with my late father we travelled 6 times to visit Broadway from Hampshire always shone brilliant town though due to its general demeanour arad expensive, I found compared to burton on the water and stow on the wold, though during 1 visit I looked into buying a 3 bedroom home nestled tucked away, nearly lost 4stone thru the seat of my pants after all said and done, Broadway is one beautiful town all persons should place a visit on their bucket list.

A very lovely town! I loved the buildings at the beginning that thatched rooves! Also, I wonder who keeps all those lovely greens all trimmed up so nicely, Those homes facing the town green were lovely!

Beautiful video 😊 I grew up in Broadway and left in 97, it moves with the times but never loses its charm, My dad still lives there so I get to go back a lot. The Rikki tikki was formally the post office and the lygon arms has a list of celebrity guests longer than any list 😄 funny you mentioned the film location looks because snowshill which is above Broadway was used for the Bridget Jones films when Bridget would visit her parents. Love the Cotswolds but a lot of the villages dont have a lot to offer once you leave the high street.
i couldn't find described in room Broadway hotels sites details if there is air conditioned in rooms,is there?
