Thank you for the walk, it was pure nostalgia for me. I was born in Paignton, just around the Bay, and grew up in the 40's and 50's, so it looks very different now, but there are still the landmarks and old buildings that look familiar. There is then the things of nature that remain timeless, I remember the Mayflower replica in the harbour, prior to her voyage to America. I miss the Herring gulls, they woke us in the morning, and called to us all day. They are always immaculate, and very cheeky. So many hate them and want them exterminated, if they don't like sea gulls, shouldn't live by the sea.

I decided to watch this on my big screen TV today. It was really interesting to learn about the place as you went by, the birthplace of the trawling industry, the embarkation point for the D-Day servicemen, even the cartoon map of the area. Good stuff.

Nice walk. I finally got around to measuring my most common walk and it's 9k. Takes me about 1 hr 45 min. Not as picturesque as this but gets the job done!

Pretty sure the Tesco used to be a Woolworth. The Cow Shed was the Black Cat Cafe, the place next to Hans Gifts used to be an amusement arcade, my first experience of Space Invaders! Were you walked past the Coast Gaurd station, was a boys home, they played the bugle in the evening around dusk and the walkway past the modern flats didn't exist, it was Upphams Boast Yard. Such happy childhood memories of family holidays. Truly my favourite place on earth.
