Thank you for the informative video. We are going to be in that van for several weeks so it was very helpful. We did notice that you had a surge suppressor multiple plugs. Is there multiple USB plugs that would be compatible for Apple products in the van Looks? I’m glad to see how you had all your camera kept equipment, ready to go. I am learning photography so that I can take great pictures on our vacation. Thank you for the video.

We will be renting the exact van you guys had a couple years ago. I hope 2 years later it has kept its quality! Logistical questions: What kind of plugs are provided? I will have all USB devices (phones, GoPro, camera, etc) and trying to decide which travel adapters to bring. Is there a “cigarette lighter “ port for a power converter? I have a travel plug with usb’s but I understand those only work when plugged into “shore power”. So basically just looking for specific insight to the van’s power situation. Thanks!

Hi Henry, thanks for the detailed tour on the campervan. One question from me about the power supply from the campervan, do I need to charge it everyday which is to stay in powered site in order to have my gadget charged? How about the heater at night?

HI Daphne, thanks for taking the time to watch my video and writing a comment. From out experience. I don't think you need to charge it everyday, I think it wouldn't leave it more than 3 days before charging at a powered site. Elaine and I never used the heater at all, despite the sometime rather cold conditions. Mind you, we travelled at the beginning of MAY. and it wasn't snowing. We always relied on more warmer clothing and a good quality sleeping bag to keep us warm at night time. Good question though. Also take into account we never used the supplied Television+DVD player. So it all depends on how you use the electricity. Our camper was for 2 people. I would assume a larger capacity vehicle would have a larger power supply to keep it consistent. I hope this helps :) Please subscribe to this channel and also my new one at photographyhotspot.

Hi henry, I saw you have power socket for your phone chargers? Is that your personal socket or you get it from the company? Cheers mate

Hi tripmehard, that was my own phone charger. I brought everything from my very own surge protected power board to all my chargers for my phones and cameras.

Thank you for your fast reply, Henry Lam! Appreciate it. One more question tho, did you rent the van from britz official website or 2nd party?

You're very welcome, We did our travel booking all through a Travel Agent, at the time it was the best deal. The people at Britz in Christchurch were very friendly and Helpful. I wouldn't have any dramas with booking through their site if that was an option.

I have yet to go to the North Island. You are correct the North Island is the one with Hobbit Town. I decided to go to South Island because by many they say that is more of the scenic of the two islands. The north Island you will witness more volcanos like sceneries. Where as I was told that the south is more moutainous. I have been told it was quite easy to do both the islands with your booking. the only factor besides money is the time you have allocated for the holiday. I highly recommend the campervan as a mode of travel for NZ, as you will see that is what most the tourists use. I'm sure which ever island you choose you will have a fantastic experience.
