UNLEASH THE ARCHERS says about "Green & Glass":
"We struggled for a while to decide which song would lead the way for this record, and in the end chose 'Green & Glass' because it is the song that inspired the cover artwork, but also because it doesn't give too much away about the concept behind the album. We wanted nothing more than to be able to create a fully cinematic retelling of the story through our music videos, and were so stoked when the boys at RuneGate Studio expressed an interest in learning how to use Stable Diffusion to make our dreams come true! They trained the model on the work of Bo Bradshaw, which gives it a beautifully unique animation style; we got to bring his magnificent t-shirt artwork to life!"

UNLEASH THE ARCHERS - Ghosts In The Mist (Official Performance Video) | Napalm Records • UNLEASH THE ARCHERS - ...
UNLEASH THE ARCHERS says about "Ghosts In The Mist":
"If you saw us at any of the shows we played last year then you might recognize this track! We filmed the music video at Mad With Power Fest, ProgPower USA, and at our show in Montreal, Canada, and it is full of so many friends and familiar faces! We love including these particular festivals in the video because they have both been supporters of ours for a very long time, and we hope we will get to play them again and again as the years go on.
The track is one of the more synth heavy songs on the album, but it's also got some rad death vocals from Grant that you can bang your head to, so we hope there will be a little something for everyone to enjoy here!"

As a controversy, we had lip-sync with Milli Vanilli and later Ashlee Simpson. Auto-tune and heavy filtering to hide the lack of ability of the singers. UTA were totally up-front with their use of AI and it follows the concept of the album. People will get mad at artists for trying something new, for trying to evolve. They will also get mad if you just do the same things over and over again, calling it a cash grab or a lack of talent/imagination. The best thing an artist can do is try to get better at their craft and in order to get better, you have to get out of your comfort zone once you've peaked. You have to go where your inspiration takes you.

Rush fans had to deal with the synthesizer controversy in the mid-80s into 90s - thankfully without internet social media, but it was another piece in the creative growth puzzle. As long as a band stays honest and sincere, that’s all we can expect.

Agree 100% and your comment made me remember Neil Young doing the same in 1982 with his album Trans (1982) especially with the song "Computer World" A big departure from his normal sound. I think as an artist, you're always wanting to be "moving" , never stagnate, moving forward and experimenting. But IF you've been a success to the degree where you have a fan base, that's a razor's edge to try and navigate. Because you don't want to try new sounds or styles that go too far that you alienate your core fans. So I applaud UtA in their journey! And I've listened to all the singles and currently listening to the full album as it's intended to be experienced and gotta say, no complaints from me at all! Sounds and feels amazing, loving the Story/Concept album approach! Well produced and executed! I think it's a perfect addition to their remarkable body of work! 😎🤘

Britney is always such a sweetheart. She’s all smiles and laughter; she’s positive; she’s gives people her time like a friend. It’s a bit heartbreaking to hear her talk about the AI thing and the reaction on the Internet. Maybe people are better off in glass vials only putting their best forward. It seems Britney has unfortunately experienced what Ph4/NT0mA does.

UTA is a bucket list band for me, I love them so much. And they're finally coming here (New Zealand)!!! Most bands never come to NZ! I was really excited, until I saw the tour dates. They're playing 5 days after I leave for a UK trip that I can't reschedule. So I'm going to miss them, and my heart is breaking. I really, really hope that they have a great time here, and the show is a massive success for them - partly because I genuinely want them to have a really great time, but also partly because then maybe they'll come back lol.

Love these discussions with UTA & this part of the album cycle getting psyched up for the release, only 10 more days! Wish more people understood their approach to making concept albums, every lyric, riff, solo & beat are serving the story, & all the elements of the songs are combining to tell the stories she writes. Not every single has to be an instant gratification fast banger, & if the point of view is from an AI construct there should be some awkwardness in how she communicates & reacts to her environment, & situations & conflicts she gets wrapped up in. UTA fully know what they want & how to do it, & although they follow her vision it is a team effort in creation & performance that feels great to be part of & immersed in with every record!

It's interesting about the AI topic. She says that she was expecting people to read the description but that seems a bit odd that you would assume that. I mean people mostly use phones to go on the internet these days and when people watch videos they use the full screen mode and when they have something to say they often just go to the comments section and don't read but just type. In fact she says herself that she doesn't read the comments when she goes onto social media. Also when she says that she didn't expect the general hate for AI and then continues to give an example of herself when she's annoyed by AI. Not a slight against her but I think she would admit after thinking about it a little bit more that perhaps she can understand it a bit more then she initially thought.

I know the Brittney is a huge Bruce Dickinson fan an a lot of inspiration comes from that, and you can hear it in the songs. But from the subject matter and style of the album, I felt there was a deep connection to Rush's 2112. I would like to think/hope that the boys from Rush would give this album a solid nod. Overall, great album!

The band is so down to earth and friendly people. Grant came out way early and chatted with a couple of us who were in the line. About an hour early it was surreal to see Brittney IRL for the first time walking down the street carrying a box after hearing so many powerful vocals in the albums. Well, the best way to get that bigger US headline tour is when all the fans go to the Powerwolf tour, show up for UtA, but their merch, post about the show and show the promoters and label that the UtA crowd in the States is indeed big enough! I'm with you, I think it's time for that bigger headline run!

Some of the coolest people you could ever meet, and they never disappoint to put on a good show. Honestly, at this point, artists need to look in the mirror and ask themselves if they treat their clients right. Because I honestly think UtA did things right, by doing them ethically. On the other hand, when Vtubers want artists to do something, and they literally overload themselves with clients, all because they want to use a hobby as though its a job -- at that point, I have no empathy for a group of entitled people who make all the promises in the world, and then fail to deliver. Because when you treat a hobby like a business, and fail to consider the logistics of what you're doing as a business, you can't expect innovations like AI to not affect what you're doing. In other words, if you're an artist that got mad at what UtA and Within Temptation has done, either get good and make what you do matter so it can compete, or expect AI to replace you. Because right now, artists and other creatives are where manufacturing workers were 20, 25 years ago, when the claim was that robots were going to replace human factory workers, and the only workers that would remain as human workers were maintenance workers and programmers. Guess what? That didn't happen. Did businesses and corporations trim human workforces? Yes -- in exchange for the up-front costs of robot workers, such as robot welders. But even now, a true automated factory has yet to be built and operated where 100% of floor workers are robots and not humans. And AI art, whether fixed image or music video, will go the same way. And bands like Unleash the Archers will still, even now, need human input and criticism to "polish and finish" both albums and music videos. I personally like the video for Green & Glass, and think that it was well done. I'm looking forward to hearing about the tour, and to finally get to listen to Phantoma come May 10. And Jasper, well done as always on the interview, as you get to do something not a lot of us plebs get to do: Have a fun conversation with an artist or vocalist we enjoy. So thanks to you for what you do as well.

Rock is walls of amps and cool stage performance. You look boring live so work on that. The fans want big shows with big theatrics. Work on that. It will pay off big!!!!! As a guitar player with skills I understand the need to focus on the music but it can be done with more pazzaz than you have now on stage. The songs are great but the show is lacking pazzaz. Don`t just stand there and sing or play. That is not fun to watch. We want BIG showmanship and big stage performance. It is hard to do but you are performers now so you must big up the show for the fans. It will pay off like you never dreamed!!! Ask KISS!! THEY HAD LAME SONGS BUT BIG THEATRICS!! The showmanship is the key to success. I love you all so go for it!! Forget about the world and the problems in it. Go on stage and kick some serious ass and you will be the next big thing!! You can be the escape from the world. That is what music has always been. Those who do it best make the big bucks!!!!

Support real Graphic Artists and Illustrators. AI is a cheap cheat that corporations will exploit in favor of a healthy bottom line. Creatives WILL lose their livelihood if we show the 1% we don't care and just except AI. It goes beyond the arts, multiple sectors are and will be deeply hurt by AI used for greed. I love UTA too, but being a fan does not excuse the AI issue. One art form (music) cheating another (illustration/animation) is egregious. Don't put your head in the sand, do your own research on the this issue. It might just be coming for your job next.

They paid an artist to make all of the art that the AI used. People need to quit being whiny morons.

@@johnathon007 Thank you for adding such a thoughtful statement to the conversation. You need to read more about the controversy and how the AI they used works. The resulting video was not 100% his art alone. Also, paying a single artist but still using AI to build the animation does not change the issue at hand.
