The UK and US need to commit to a mindset that this war isn't going away. We've coasted on post Cold War mindsets for too long, allowed our defence sector to atrophy. 'His accent gives him away, he's a proud Londoner.' It gives away more than that. He's also an innit bruv. Its quite strange when you realize how little nationality matters in the west. He's a bruv living in London and fighting in Ukraine. We also had bruvs living in London and fighting for ISIS at one point. Its like a split between all aspects of identity. Your location, race, background, etc don't have to match at all, and how you feel about things is arbitrary.
