You are welcome to go die in wars, I'll return after war with zero guilt to profit from the reconstruction. Within six months, no one will think about you. Now in my 70's. 16 years in the British Army a lifetime ago. If I'd been in my 30's I would have been in Ukraine. My wife is also ex forces and though she doesn't like it, she gets it and knows I would have been on a train. Many of my ex service mates reckon they may also have been drawn. I know exactly what this brave young lad is saying when he says duty is not a choice. You either feel obliged to answer the call or you don't. Wish him and his ilk well. He used the word honourable and he's right, it is, in the eyes of many a very honourable act they have decided to participate in. Wish there were more like him.

We hear about support packages for Ukraine every day seemingly, but the amounts are pitifully inadequate to get the job done - these people are suffering terribly, and so is the global economy. For God's sake, let's give them the tools to get the job done! After Putin's insanity, the world has changed for ever, especially here in Europe, but sitting on our thumbs is not going to help - and if Putin wins this war, we are looking a decades of conflict and turbulence across Europe and beyond.
