"let's reward work' at about 2:25. Tax relief doesn't 'reward work', it is the workers' money to start with. It's like a thug 'rewarding' a victim by stopping punching them. Not, that's not a reward, that's doing the right thing. So is taxation reduction. Smaller government is needed because governments produce nothing.

The heating costs are so expensive in Canada, my cousin puts up flannel blankets in doorways so she heats only one room at a time and uses electric blankets to cover herself with in the winter. Such a shame as we are all older in our mid 60's and there isn't section 8 in British Columbia, Canada that helps with rent when you are poor, or disabled.

I have a heated pad for my feet and a heated throw to cover the rest of me. Fuel costs over here in the UK are crippling, although the government has thrown consumers and businesses a bone with a subsidiary plan. Ultimately, though, it is the taxpayer paying for this largesse.

The same reason the Euro is worth less than a Dollar - and the Yen has fallen sharply against it too. Money flooding into dollars from other countries in times of stress and Fed hiking rates very aggressively. Don't worry when the speculators have finished with sterling, they'll go for the Euro and then eventually come for the Dollar too. The West has printed too much FIAT money - simples. Want OPEC to pump more oil, then better start finding something worthwhile to pay them for it (or get drilling in Alaska and building that Canadian pipeline)

I live in Ireland, next door to England, our politicans are laughing at Liz truss, but what she's doing is encouraging high worth individuals to come or stay in the UK , making working hard pay and putting certainty for everyone in relation to their utility bills. Meanwhile, our government is taxing concrete more next year and has said there will be no government intervention in the energy markets to provide any confidence to consumers. The reason we're paying extra for concrete is because our government doesn't jail or punish wealthy criminals, they just tax the poor more. To order home heating oil it's now 1.25 a liter, not so long ago it was half that or less than. Our electric bills keep going up, we're getting a little help here and there but inflation has way outstripped any sticking plasters
