British Longhair Cats - Everything You Need To Know

Smoothie & Milkshake are both British Longhair cats. This breed is a mix between British Shorthair and Persian cats. Actually, at first these cats were seen as mistakes. Fortunately that's in the past, and in more and more countries the British Longhair is an officially recognized breed.
British Longhairs are medium sized semi-longhair cats with a thick coat and calm character. They're quite curious and appreciate the presence of their owner(s). They also adapt pretty easily to different circumstances and are good with other animals & little children.
In general British Longhair cats are not the most cuddly. A lot of them don't like to be held. But they absolutely show a lot of affection in other ways. They're always around when something's happening.
British Longhair cats sleep more than other breeds. Especially at an older age, they start to be less playful. Of course you should still motivate them to exercise. Because they get easily used to things, they also get easily bored with certain toys. So be sure to always provide them with new ways to play.
About Smoothie & Milkshake:
Smoothie and Milkshake are two British Longhair cats living in The Netherlands, respectively five years and three years old. Since she was called “The Most Photogenic Cat In The World”, Smoothie rose to fame in 2016. She’s the Queen of Fluff, and always camera-ready. She judges, she disapproves & she plots (world domination) on a daily basis.
Smoothie's born on the 1st of April 2014, Milkshake is from the 20th of May 2016. Smoothie weighs 2.6 kg, while Milkshake is double her size (4.5kg). This is very common, because Smoothie's a female and Milkshake's a male.

I'm British! Being serious, scientists did an experiment a few years ago with cows, and it turns out they recognise regional accents! While they responded to all calls, they reacted the most to the local accent they were used too. They also responded to music, reacting to upbeat music more.

Smoothie & Milkshake are models, Smoothie is one of the most beautiful cats i've ever seen & I've never seen a cat with emerald color eyes like Smoothie's! WOW! GORGEOUS.

Today Kokosik arrived at our home, both me and my mother are over the moon. He is adjusting well, he even comes for pets even though he is a little frightened. For his first day he’s done really well, he is in good hands and I believe he will living a fulfilling life with us 🥰

British longhair cats are quite calm....swat, swat, swat, swat, swat
I'm wanting a British long hair because Smoothie and Milkshake are so cute. :)
Pro tip on how to brush long (human) hair 3:10 : Start at the tip/end of the hair! Never start at the root/head/body! If you start at the root the knots in the hair will tighten even more instead of untangling. That's contraproductive. On top, the tightened knots will prevent the brush from passing through the hair and therefore the brush will pull the hair. Pulling hair hurts! Sooo, start at the the tip (just a few centimeters). Once you can brush those few centimeters easily move a few centimeters upwards and brush from this length to the tip. Repeat until you've reached the root of the hair. This is so much more pleasing than starting from the root. At least for humans. I think it's similar for cats.

I did and adopt one it was to wild it didn’t work for me that’s why you look for something that will be suitable to your lifestyle.. so it’s good to get a breed that you do research for and know it will workout .. trust me I did everything right to keep it ..
