I went to Amsterdam when I was around 12 years old and developed an obsession with stroopwafels 😫 they’re SO good 😭

I bet there are more Dutch people looking at this than people from England or other places in the world.

It is always stroopwafels (oe in Dutch), but english speaking people could easily pronounce it the right way if they used the ”o-sound” from ”ok” for the double o in stroop🤣

@Borko Borko I live in Nederland since 2001 I know what I am speaking about. Almost the Dutch food without saus has no or bad taste. Some is wel lekker so as de strop waffles honing and caramel... De lekkerbeker(fried fish) sometimes de croquet.and the zuur vlees.. Gouda old and Jong cheese... So far I don t see... Even de meat you buy in the supermarket.. And I don't speak about the fish....

The “potato flavoured chips” aren’t potato flavored 😂 it’s called “patatje joppie” joppie is a sauce dutch people eat with their fries. so they flavored the crisps with joppie sauce

I've send care-packages of snacks from the Netherlands to a friend of mine in Finland and to my girlfriend in the US. It's great fun to do and get their reactions over live stream. Also, our cheese is VERY loved in other countries. Especially in the US. You can go to your local cheese shop and you can get a block of cheese vacuum sealed in plastic and it'll stay good for 2 months, long enough to survive a journey to a country on the other side of the planet!

My grandmother (my dad's mom) made stroopwafels when I was growing up. My sister just found them at Costco so we can have them again in the USA. Another great video and thanks for sharing!

Because at this time it is what my doctor called a stomach intolerance. However, yes Ollie you should be more careful. I was like that with chicken. Not poultry just chicken. At 20 it was an upset stomach. Now at 51 it is tongue swelling and food poisoning symptoms for days after. I was once hospitalized because my brother put chicken broth in the rice. (He claimed it was an accident. However, my best friend believe it was a murder attempt. Lol still an on going debate among them.)

If you can’t choose between stroopwafels and jodenkoeken. There is an option that combines these two. It’s called stroopkoeken. 🤯🤯 best ever!

Stroopwafel is absolutely wonderful!!! A friend had sent me some. She's in Michigan (USA), there's a large Netherland influence there. I had found them locally, but they were extremely expensive! Of course I had to have them 😁

As a Dutch person, I love how they pronounce the names

Back in high school, my dad took me out of school for a doctor's appointment, but we went to his workplace first. They had a huge fricking can of Stroop Waffles that had one or two missing. That can was emptied very quickly.

When he smells the bag of Joppie-chips he looks instantly high🤣

We really like our liquorice here in the Netherlands, most grocery stores have two parts of the wall (top to bottom) filled with different kinds. Its hilarious to watch people who are not used to the taste eat it, I think thats why people continue to send it to people who taste snacks. Even though almost nobody likes it, their faces are great 🤣🤣

I once saw a video tasting dutch snacks with an American dad and his kid. This dad was the only one I ever saw really enjoying dutch licorice!! Fantastic!

I forgot all about patatje joppie chips and never realized the sheer audacity of fries-flavored chips. In fact, a craving has been awakened that I havent felt since high school and I will now abort this youtube session in favor of a venture to the appie. Thanks Jolly guys!

Lol the joppie chips are made to mimic the taste of joppie sauce which is a curry-oniony-mayonaise-y sauce used as a condiment with fries, you can get it everywhere! I hate most of the things you guys tried hahahaha, but loved seeing your reactions to them !! The urine talks were so funny 🤣🤣🤣

Kinda disappointed there wasnt any hagelslag, speculaas or borrelnootjes but still a great video

if you ever go to the Netherlands, go to any store and find frikandelbroodjes. they are frikandellen with croissant-like dough around them and they are the true best thing ever (all of the people that I know -I live in the Netherlands- love them, and they're absolutely amazing)
