Pantera's sound grew so much with each album, especially with the vocals, so i recommend hearing something across the board with them. The Great Southern Trendkill is my favorite album from them, but i would recommend "Becoming" and "Revolution is my Name" if you only gave them two more songs.

I'm 64 years old and love a great variety of music. Pantera, for me, was a band who moved "hard rock" music from the sounds of Steppenwolf to Heavy Metal. They still have those shades of traditional rock and roll. I agree with you about vocals....the heavy metal vocal sound had not been perfected yet. Once again, I'm glad you enjoyed it cause I didn't have to wait to see you smile. Absolutely impressed with you as a beautiful and refreshing blast of honesty and fun. Love you too.

"I know this." I SAW this. My firsts Metal show ever was Pantera. I was 15 but looked 18. My uncle got me in. Changed me forever. I sometimes, like for half this video at least, forget they're not a thing anymore and half the band is sadly dead. It's still, all these years later, unreal to me that a band this talented and powerful, with paradoxically the most down to Earth and larger than life people aren't still blowing the roofs off of buildings with songs like this.

Phil Anselmo, lead vocals, has a 5 octave range. Only a handful of people in the world do. And that guitarist is Darryl "Dimebag" Abbott, one of the all time greatest guitarists ever. The drummer is his older brother, Vinnie "the brick wall" Paul (Abbott). Rex Brown on bass. You need to react to Cemetery Gates, it really showcases Phil's vocal range. Also, react to Mouth For War, Domination live in Moscow 1991, I'm Broken, Revolution is my Name, Piss, Walk, Fucking Hostile.

Yeah! Awesome. Great song and group. Have fun! 👍 8:22 ... I've spent my life listening to bands because I like the instrumental aspects. I basically always come to the vocals and lyrics last. I have to get the feel of the song first, sometimes listen for months before I pay attention to the vocals. In the case of Pantera I like the vocals, but if you don't don't feel funny about it. There's plenty of other great stuff. Do you typically listen to drums and bass a lot? You may just identify with the rhythm aspects. That's cool. 👍

When this came out it was so raw and fresh...you can easily tell that Metal was born from Punk, by those who didn't want to get in touch with their feelings in an organized planned manner, but instead in the raw chaotic expression. If you listen to Black Flag or Suicidal Tendencies, you will hear how these bands like Pantera just took it further. Do Pantera Walk

A + Juan. Good job. If you "don't like the vocals" pick a different song. Each song is unique with this band. If you like melodic vocals, Phil's got plenty of those. Try Cemetery Gates or Hollow or The Sleep or 10s or Suicide Note Part 1 or This Love or Becoming. I always suggest A New Level, Revolution Is My Name, Yesterday Don't Mean Shit and 13 Steps to Nowhere to everyone.

I understand that, I don't agree, but I realize this shreding style of singing is not for everyone.
