That Quetzalcoatl tattoo has been on her neck since 2017-2018. Off memory, it was on their Brazilian tour. It's great to see some new material, It's almost been 2 years since Macro.

A lot of people (reactors, too) think what they're seeing is a cool looking swirling room (the vortex) and some kind of awesome new monster game character, when what they're actually witnessing is the brutal, troubled place that is Tatiana's inner psyche. Reading the lyrics is a must! Tati is such a complex, dichotomy of a super talented yet unassuming superstar. I simply love her!

also besides that (and you are totally right with that) the vortex the black hole is the band itself. thats why it moves with her screams and the music. they are the vortex. they suck you in. think about it

I have to watch your videos at least twice...the first time I am so completely focused on watching you (especially when you are enjoying the music video). I love waiting for the smile and eyes to light up. You are so striking and honest. Then I watch for the video and listen to your comments. Its great hearing your creative insight. Fun reaction! This song is quickly becoming one of my favorites! Gotta love the Vortex trash monster at the end. The progression of the song is amazing from beginning to end. I can't wait for more from their upcoming album.

I hear some AIC too, example "Would." The song is about collecting negative thoughts, being dragged down by them. It starts out talking about a man (even though it is more about Tatiana) so I take the garbage monster as what the man becomes. They performed it a few days after releasing at Hellfest At Home (virtual version of Hellfest which can't be done for real this year) - the copyright holder isn't reactor friendly but it is fin to watch, links in the comments. They'll be at Bloodstock but I don't think regular UK concerts have been scheduled yet.

@@cyberia55 Bodybuilding doesn't annoy me. Them using the word "swole" (in the context you mentioned) would annoy me. White people (of which, I am one) trying to use slang that originated in the black community usually end up sounding hokey. They 100% never sound as cool as they think they do. But that aside, it wouldn't fit in with her lyrical style at all.

I'd be willing to bet that when they're live in front of a full crowd there may be a couple more of the "Whirl, Spin, Swirl" at the end of the song.

Speaking of Jinjer being at least partially inspired by Incubus. Origins of metal are so interesting. It is so interesting that you can trace metal from old delta blues, to the Yard Birds (etc.), to Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, to Iron Maiden (etc), then all the way to bands like Slipknot, Whitechapel, and Slaughter to Prevail. Evolution at its finest I suppose. Fun fact: The genius of thrash metal is attributed to Queen, believe it or not. Their song, Stone Cold Crazy is considered to be the first ever Thrash Metal song. You could argue that without that song, Am I Evil by Diomond Head wouldn't have existed, then Metallica wouldn't have either. Blows your mind if you think about it! God bless Queen, I guess!

I think there might be a slight influence from Guano Apes too. I think Tatiana mentioned in some interview that she performed Guano Apes covers a bunch of years back. Jinjer is twenty times heavier than Guano Apes though and has a much more mixed style even though Guano Apes did some weird stuff at times.

I love Jinjer, but with their more proggy tracks it takes me a few listens to truly appreciate it. Often the first listen it just washes over me. This song is a great example... the first time through I was meh, but after a few listens I really like it (had the same experience with Ape)
