It’s great to see the old BA liveries again, especially the Landor livery. The A319 in BEA livery is beautiful as well. Thanks for putting this great video on KZread.

Thank you for this detailed video Stephen, watched it five times already and still brings back fond memories of 1966 when I first came to England from Hong Kong in a BOAC Boeing 707, but my ultimate favourite aircraft is the 747, in my opinion better looking than Concorde, it's a shame airlines are retiring 747's opting for the 777's and the 787 Dreamliner. I now have a 100x50 canvas of G-BYGC in BOAC livery on my wall so that I can see the magnificent Queen of the sky every day!

Thank you mate, I'm glad this video brought back fond memories you had, certainly my favourite livery out of the three was the Landor livery. Looks absolutely stunning in the sun. And the BOAC looks great too. It is a terrible shame airlines are getting rid of the 747. It's all because operating four engines is less efficient then operating say a 787 or an a350 for example. If a plane costs an airline a lot on fuel they'll absolutely replace it with a more fuel efficient aircraft, I would have liked to have seen the 747-8 sell better in terms of passenger airlines.

I totally agree, the Landor livery is the classiest out of the three especially with the BA crest on the tail fin, but BOAC for old time sake

If only they'd bring the Landor livery back fleet-wide. Best livery they ever had by a long way.

Imagine if they replaced the arms coat with a golden speedbird stolen from BOAC

Probably my favourite reemergence was the return of the Landor livery as it brings back memories of my holiday to LA in 1991. Negus was also cool, personally the should paint few more 747s in those retro livery designs retire them in style

Thank you. Yes we were absolutely blessed to have them at Dublin, and probably the only time we'll ever see them here too!

The third livery was the biggest surprise for me as I never expected to see it again.

I was just going through some old photos, and realised this is the 747 that brought be back from Dallas in 2018, the last plane I went on! 2 long years. This was before her Landor livery update. She was falling apart internally, the IFE didn’t work, broken seats.. didn’t smell great.. and yet; she was a British Airways 747 ❤️ I now absolutely need to see her depart Heathrow for the final time.

I'd can't image the retros going to scrap to be honest, they're too significant, plus they would have spend at least 50K per plane for the paint job, I'd say they would be inclined to preserve them. I really hope they do as I still need to get my first 747 flight!

Irish Rail Trains I think Negus is still at Heathrow, Landor I found out is in Cardiff. I really want them to park a 747 next to the Concorde at Heathrow - so we can see it every time we land!

G-BYGC - BOAC (1964-1974) Ceased: 31 March 1974, Merged with British Airways G-CIVB - Negus (1974-1984) G-BNLY - Landor (1984-1997) All painted for almost 4 years. now they are retired

If I didn't know that it was a retro livery I would have thought the G-BNLY was a diplomatic plane with the Queen or PM in it or something like that.

I think the Landor livery makes the plane look bigger whereas the current one makes the plane look smaller.

Absolutely brilliant footage. It’s a shame that someone couldn’t close that road to the shitty traffic and that constant road noise drowning out the roar from those take offs.

This is an outstanding video!, one could be fooled into thinking Dublin turned into Heathrow! My fav without a doubt, has to be the Landor livery, it screams smart and businesslike, but i've never seen a 747 in a bad livery! I have all 3 747s from Inflight 200 , they have done a superb job, the attention to detail is excellent.😃 I also have Aer Lingus B 757 , Aer Lingus A320 , and Aer Lingus A330-300. I am waiting on the new Aer Lingus A321 Long Range, from Inflight 200. Not a fan of the new livery , but i will get used to the eurowhite!😒

In addition to BOAC they should have used Imperial Airways as well...!

Fantastic video, well captured. Love the retro colours, shame to see what Aer Lingus done to its look, absolutely dreadful.

Thank you, the retro colours look amazing on the 747, Aer Lingus have made a holy show of their livery, I think it's a joke having that livery represent our country to the rest of the world!

Ian McGreevy well we know the now is yes, given BA have retired all their 747’s with immediate effect

So is Dublin one of the places where liveries are applied/changed? What other airlines come here for a makeover?
