British airlines and airliners from the 1960s
Various 8mm videos from 1965 to 1971 showing classic UK turboprop commercial airliners including the Vickers Viscount and Bristol Britannia being flown by BEA, Monarch, and Britannia airlines, along with some early jets like the Boeing 727, 720B, Sud Caravelle and the BAC One-Eleven.
Some nice video of Manchester Ringway as well, along with ground crew operations

Just love it...thank you
Great video. I spent many years working on the Monarch Britannia G-AOVT original restoration at Duxford. Nice to see her ‘alive’ in your video.
Thanks for going to the effort of digitizing and uploading this.
Any aircraft misidentifications are readily acknowledged, I was only a passenger. Glad to share some memories...
loved to watch these airliners in the colours of such classic airlines. Thanks.
Brings back memories of the times I spent on the unrestricted piers. Thanks.
Fond memories of the piers at Ringway. Also spent many happy hours at the old brickworks at the western end of the runway. It was a thrill to spot a 707 coming in from many miles out, mainly due to the 4 black trails it left behind!
Thanks for posting; a unique and very memorable insight into the British airports I knew, (I flew on Comets and Tridents from 1966 to 1973.)
Fabulous! The days when airports weren't sanitized. Remember them well :-)
Great video, now that's when airliners were great. Not so much today. Such a shame.
Brilliant, I was proberbly there on the piers. nice to see thanks for uploading
what an amazing video this is !!! so many classic old birds !
i remember walking on those piers at ringway airport too . used to get really loud up there ! they would not allow it today of course . i also remember the B.E.A VISCOUNT and the many trips i had on them .
Ah the days when spotting was interesting and not the boring airbuses and boeings you see at manchester (Ringway) today

How right you are. Todays airliners are just soulless totally boring aluminium tubes,

It looks interesting now but I can remember being bored at Ringway in the 70s. Dan Air Comet yawn, Dan Air 111 yawn, Britannia 737 etc. When Heathrow was fog bound and Ringway got the diversions that was when it got more exciting.
very nice Thanks for this A couple of things The second set showing Caledonian Airways is a Douglas DC 7C. The Britannia Airways Boeing 720B is a 707
The Caledonian aircraft at 0:44 is a DC-7C, probably G-AOIE.
How nicely people dressed!
Superb, but Britannia didn't operate the B720B, it was a B707.

Nice video, but Britannia (at 0:30) should only have one "t" not two!
The Caledonian a/c, is NOT a Brritannia, it is a DC-7 !!!
かっこいいよ
The Caledonian 'Britannia' is actually a DC7C. I suggest that before posting videos you do a bit of aircraft recognition practice.
