The real trick here is the legendarily cynical Simon being absolutely blown away. By all accounts, he is REALLY hard to impress when it comes to magic tricks, and Jaime not only impressed him, but left him completely dumbfounded. That my friends, is the real magic here.

The reason why he was second top act in BGT is not the tricks he does, but the way he approaches to them. You can say that you know how he did it, but you can't deny the fact that he has a brilliant personality. That's why he was so close to winning.

Man, there's times where I really dislike people on the internet. Here I am in awe about this guys performances, happy with his accomplishments, then boom! I find people shitting on said performances. Why do people need to be such dicks? Yes, other magicians have done it. Yes, I understand there are more difficult tricks that could be performed. But as far as I'm concerned this guy has a great personality who loves what he does while doing an amazing job. As far as I'm concerned, that's something to be praised, not hated on.

You guys are being too harsh on him. If you watch other magicians, 75% of the time, you can see what they're doing by slowing the vid down. but come on guys, thats just a total party pooper. You guys need to embrace the impressive part, which is how they can execute it smoothly. If you look at Smoothini from AGT, his tricks are extremely simple, and he uses techniques beginners learn. But the thing is that he performs them with a cool attitude and does the tricks almost flawlessly. Another one is Darcy Oake. Slow down the video and you see where he pulls out the doves. But its his ability to do it so smoothly that impresses people. To me, Jamie did very well, and he performed it flawlessly. The cameras were the reason why we could see, but it wasn't his fault. A magician's confidence or skill to surpress his/her nerves while performing is the reason why it seems to be magic, it's not so much about the trick.

This was by far the best performance of the finals for me. While some may criticise his act for the lack of something Grand befitting the finals, on the contrary I found the fact that he got back to the basics was what was simply genius, especially with many of the acts including my favs jesse & Calum falling flat trying to push it up a notch. they simply ended up losing the 'it' that got me hooked to begin with. Simple indeed but works and refreshing so.

I don't know magic, but this is speculation: when he shows his hand before reaching for the lemon in the bag, his thumb is folded in. If he really wanted to show he has nothing in his hands, he would have all fingers out. The note is likely hidden inside his thumb. It takes him an abnormally long amount of time to take out the lemon, so I assume he's taking the note from his thumb and inserting it into the small slit in the lemon. That's just my guess. Regardless, this guy is very good. It's not what he does in his tricks--it's the way he does it, the charisma, the stage presence, and his flawless ability to incorporate his audience (in this case, the judges) into his acts.

  • @BlueAndGold31

+InTheEnd75 I once had that mindset. Always cheer for the underdog. But then I realized that every great power, whether it be in sports or in a talent show or in life, all started as an underdog. It's that they kept believing in themselves to make it big and to no longer be the hunted but the hunter. And I want to respect that as well. So my mindset is to no longer always root for the underdog. Rather, I root for the one who worked harder to get where they are--whether that be the underdog or the favored party. The one who put in more time, more effort, and more hard work to be in the position they're in. That's the one I want to support, whether they're the underdog or not.

The note is behind his thumb and the lemon has a hole in the side he never shows. Hard to pull off though.

he pushed that note through a hole in the bottom of the lemon, if you really look at it he doesn't let you see one half on the lemon, that is the side where the hole is

He is amazing in it, but somehow I guess I found out how he did it! :D The note was always in his right hand and there was a hole in one side of the lemon where he put the note when he reached out inside the bag. Look closely, the side with the hole in the lemon is always unexposed to the camera.

Haha he's a magician people not a wizard. The whole art of magic is illusions and quick hand tricks. No magician can perform without some form of trickery. Obviously he was going to put the note in the lemon somehow Or do y'all think he was going to do it with his mind.
