He was on the BBC a few years ago and put forward a lot of things related to more modern history and was slammed in an open letter by historians from places such as Cambridge. His facts were called out as BS and just totally incorrect, and his conclusions as being naïve, baseless and way off beam. He is still doing it. He is not an expert in this particular area and it is worse, he is incorrect in his statements.

In short control London and you control England /the UK. For Regional England moaning about it and wallowing in saccharine rise tinted nostalgia appears to be the commonest response to finding themselves yet again by passed.

"Work or starve" is an emotive way of putting it - but I have never seen a good reason to claim we need huge amounts of immigrant labour while we're paying millions of fit and healthy British adults not to work.

We must foster a culture of historical knowledge in our youth. We must never be ignorant of the past and know what they did to overcome age old problems. Otherwise, like we have seen, time and time again, we forget and repeat the same mistakes. It's a tragedy I think we are going to suffer not long from now given the state of British education and its hatred of England.
