I suggest, and you can pick whichever one you want, to react to a video made by DJ Earworm. He is a mashup artist, and he's so good at it that Annie Lennox's people gave him the master audio files to tinker with to make a new song out of any and all Annie's songs he wanted to put in there, and that is also actually a really good start to his music. That song is called "Backwards/Forwards". Sometimes he'll take a whole decade and put it in one song, or a whole year of songs, that kind of thing, and instead of being a mess, like most mashups are, he really knows what he's doing. He's what I listen to when I don't know what I want to listen to.

Incorrect. "I Want to Hold Your Hand" was released in the US the day after Christmas, 1963. This list is not about chart performance but rather recognizability now. I suspect the list creator used # of KZread views as a deciding factor in many of these. As an example, the 4 Non Blondes song "What's Up" peaked at #14 on the US Billboard charts and was #50 on the Billboard Year-End Hot 100 singles of 1993. It really wasn't all that popular then. However, today it has 1.5 billion views on KZread.

  • @paulhammond6978

@@jesses5463 Yeah, it's not charts, because for sure "What's Up" was not the biggest seller of her year. Nirvana's year the UK best seller was Bryan Adams (the record breaking no 1 for 16 weeks, associated with "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves"). The Whitney Houston "I will always love you" *was* also the biggest seller in 1992.

Chester Bennington and Freddie Mercury are two of my favorite male singers of all time. There are a couple more but I think it's harder to pinpoint great male voices of all time because they usually front bands. There are more female artists who sing by themselves and because of that they stand out a lot more. I hope that makes sense.

The 80s through 2000s golden era of music? Totally wrong. And the 80s brought in electronic instruments instead of real instruments with the real sounds. It has its place in music history but it’s a far cry from being the golden era of music. I watch a lot of music reaction videos and most of the reactors are under the age of 40 and grew up on rap. They are appreciating the music of the past. This would be pre-1980. They realize that back in the day if you were a singer you had to know how to sing. There was no auto tunes. If you played the instrument you actually knew how to play it. Some of the reactors I watch are in their 20s and they are in love with Tom Jones Frank Sinatra Elvis and many others that were from the 1970s and earlier.

"1980 to 2000, probably the golden era for music...." Really? That certainly wouldn't be my judgement. But, I know you have an encyclopedic knowledge of the music from 1950 through 1979, so you must be right.

For the best male voice, no one can beat Dimash Kudaibergen. Actually no female or male on this planet can beat him. You have to hear him to understand the control, beauty, and absolute dominance this man has. I don't think I have ever heard any reactor not agree that he has the best voice in the world.

I personally think that Chris Cornell is the voice that I find to hold that distinction, but everyone has their own favorites.

Call me dumb, deaf or has a bad taste in music, but idc. Nobody will ever convince me that the Beetles, Mariah Carey and Elvis is good music. I avoid going shopping around the holidays just because of that horrible Mariah Christmas song that they play over and over and over. I honestly believe that song is a big part of the reason for the high suic*de rate during the holiday season.

The biggest track of 2003 was in da club 50 cent. I already know they are gonna act like its crazy love beyonce

This list is not about what was the biggest song but rather which song is the most recognizable today. I've noticed that KZread views seem to be a critical criterion in many of these selections but even by that metric this is quite the head scratcher. In da Club has 1.7 billion views whereas Crazy in Love has around 700 million.

@@jesses5463 Even if that was true, I think they're both recognizable but people literally play in the club at people's birthdays just because of the beginning of the song. I'm pretty sure that's more recognizable

@@ki11atj49 No clue. I hardly remember Crazy in Love at all. Then again, I didn't discover ignition until like 8 years later. I must have taken a break from popular music in 2003 as 50 Cents songs are the only songs I really recall listening to back then.

Meh. Mariah Carey is a really great pop voice, but I wouldn't put her as high as Celine Dion and Whitney Houston. Those two are powerful voices; Mariah isn't really a power voice.
