Gorkha is a place and Gurkha is the name given to the Nepalese army regiment in Indian army and UK Army. Edited: India was still under British rule when Nepalese were recruited as a Gurkha laure in “Lahore”Pakistan so the name laure (soldier) came in..and Britisher called Nepalese fighters Gurkhas because at the first Anglo war Nepalese king was from Gorkha hence they called the fighter gorkhas instead of Nepalese.. P.s India still has Gurkha regiment because, when the British left India, Gurkha regiment were divided and left behind to protect the New Democratic country.. so, there r still Gurkha regiment in Indian army, British army even in Singapore police and Brunei army. (It’s a very long and interesting history, if made into a series, best war movies till date would be in shame😅)

Everest is a natural border between Tibet and Nepal just like K2, which is a natural border between Pakistan and China. We think it is in Nepal because we have always been taught so. Same with the Tibetans. They have always been taught that it is in Tibet. Learned that from a Tibetan friend. Even before Everest had Nepali or English name, it had a Tibetan name. Wish both Nepalis and Tibetans/Chinese were taught that Everest has always been a natural border between Tibet and China.

Gorkha is one of the 77 districts in Nepal. It was a small Kingdom of King Prithivi Narayan Shah, the guy who unified Nepal. So basically Gorkha expanded, grew in sizeand became Nepal. As people from Nepal are called Nepali, people from Gorkha are called Gorkhali which somehow the Brits started calling Gurkha maybe because Gorkhali is difficult for them to pronounce. So all Nepalese call themselves Gorkhali because it’s the origin of the country.

Holy shit!! Thanks fam Probably the most hospitable and cheap tourist destination in South Asia. The valleys, mountains, waterfalls will not disappoint. Our flag is probably the most distinguish-able in the world with triangular shapes representing no influence from any imperialism or colonialism. Britain did try to conquer us but couldn't due to the sheer bravery and boldness that's why even to this day, British army allocates about 100 seats every year for special Nepalese soldiers you may or may not have heard about called "Gurkhas". Most of em are royal guards Also, Buddha was born in Nepal but it's still a disputed and sensitive topic we have on going with India but I got nothing but love for my neighbours Love from Nepal brother

The true potential of Nepal is not realized yet. If only we had a good government, this country would have been a better country by a lot. I mean literally a lot than what it is today. Just compare this country with any other countries, and see how geographically gifted this country is. While people in other countries are using technologies to cater the deficiency that geography failed to provide them, here in Nepal we are not being able to utilize such a greater gift from geography. I truly feel blessed to have been born as Nepali, but the way today's government has corrupted this country and destroyed it's beauty just makes me feel really sad.
