This week was considered rivalry week. The schedulers set it up that way. That’s why STL played KC, Miami vs. Orlando (Florida derby), Cincinnati vs. Columbus (Ohio), Dallas vs. Houston (Texas), etc.

thank you for reacting to this. for my team, fc cincinnati, this is the biggest game of the year. it might not seem quite as good of an atmosphere on tv but in person when i went to this game it was crazy. this is a massive rivalry too called the hell is real derby so it’s cool to see international fans reacting to something that means so much to me

The wild thing is that the guy who almost equalized in the final seconds of stoppage time is the same guy who equalized in the final seconds of stoppage time in the match last season. There was no way the keeper was letting him do it again, lmao. I'm Columbus til I die, but I'll give credit where credit is due on that save.

As a Charlotte fan, I’m very angry that Cinci pulled away with the W. Don’t know how Cinci feels about Charlotte, but we don’t like them. There’s only one Queen City, and that’s Charlotte not Cinci.

FC Cincinnati is very good right now, but we’ll have to check back after the transfer window. It’s already official that one of their star players, Brenner, is heading to Udenese in July for a reported $10M. Their midfielder Luciano Acosta and their forward Branden Vazquez are also both drawing international interest. They could be without their three top players by the end of July. You might wonder why not wait on selling such important players, but remember MLS is a salary cap league and it’s very important for growth and the inflow of money to transfer players out. A lot of our best players that are under the age of 25 will leave this summer and younger less experienced players will finish out the season and start the next before the cycle repeats. It’s how it works and if Cinci, or any other team in the league, can get big money for players, they are gone.

Acosta has expressed interest in staying in Cincy. He has two young kids and has so far said Cincy is his desired place to raise them now. Unless FCC takes a huge nose dive, or he gets an insane offer from place like PSG I don't see Acosta leaving. As for Vasquez. Shoooot if he keeps playing the way he is now he will be lucky to even keep his spot on USMNT. I think he slots in well with the team we have and the chemistry is there but facts are facts he is just not hitting the shots he was last year. At least not yet. Time will tell. I think in general though we have already proven we don't need Brenner anymore.

Vasquez just agreed to a contract extension back in August and has expressed he wants to stay in cincy longer so unless they get a ridiculous offer for him just like lucho he won't be going anywhere.

I as at this game it was amazing. The atmosphere was great the game was great and we won. Acosta was named best player for the league for that matchday. Our first win against our rival at home since we joined the MLS.

Nope, you guys won at Nippert in 2020 against us. It just was an empty stadium due to Covid. (I think it was the 3 of our 4 matches that season against each other)

Same. Was sitting second row right at mid-field. It was nuts last year too but we didn't come away with a win unfortunately.

I’m pretty sure everyone everywhere today is still wondering how the hell that didn’t go in. If that don’t win save of the season this year, something absolutely unbelievable will have to happen between now and October when the regular season ends, or now and December when the playoffs end.
