The problem is, it will very rarely ever happen. They built all the MLS specific stadiums way too small to accommodate a League that is growing. In 10 years, they were almost all be obsolete, not just because they’re outdated amenities… They won’t be big enough.

My family and I just got into going to Galaxy matches. WE have season tickets now. We saw about half of last season as well in person. This game at the Rose Bowl was the coolest thing ever. I am still pumped up from that match.

@@VoidXFooty I have 6 season tickets, in the 7th row, near the corner flag the Galaxy attack in the first half. I am always in the shade which is nice. The 6 tickets for all the home games comes out to about 3,000 for the year, paid in 12 monthly installments. I get discounts on food and merchandise. And got to pick my seats for the rose Bowl game before they were on sale. So we sat 4th row, behind the galaxy's bench.

Tyler Boyd used to play in Turkey. also the backup keeper for Galaxy had to come in due to Bond being injured. And the backup keeper is Jurgen Klinnsman's son. And Puigs pronunciation "Pooj" is apparently how the Catalans pronounce it. Hes Catalan, not Castilian Spanish.

Boyd has also been in the US national team; he got ten caps in 2019 but dropped out of the national team picture when he wasn't playing at Besiktas due to a weird contract situation. Fun bit of trivia, though: he scored the 1,000th goal in the US national team's history.

Galaxy has been in great form since the firing of ex president Chris Klein. Now they have to take this games momentum and push for a playoff push then to reach the mls cup. Puig was man of the match. I’m glad you noticed how good galaxy played and yea they should be on top.

You gotta react to the California Classico! The original California rivalry between San Jose Earthquakes and LA Galaxy, it has great history and true animosity. Games sell out a 40,000 seat stadium when they play at Stanford once a year.

Hey G. LA's #6 Riqui Puig last name is pronounced "Pooch". It threw us off because we had a baseball player for the Dodgers with the last name Puig. But his last name is pronounced the way it is spelled. Puig, Costa and Tyler Boyd won that game for LA.

The Rose Bowl is a legendary stadium. It's now over a century old (opened in 1922). The Galaxy played there for their first few seasons until their current ground was built. The Final of the 1994 World Cup (one of the worst ever) was played there.

I dont know if it played a direct role in how “El Trafico” got its name, but it may also be a nod to how in baseball when the Yankees and Mets play each other it’s referred to as “The Subway Series”. This also happened in St. Louis in the 1944 World Series when both St. Louis teams made the World Series and it was called “The Street Car Series”. And so since there is so much traffic in LA it’s “The Traffic Series”. Like I said I don’t know if this was intentional or if I’m stretching but it’s a possible parallel. Love the channel!

LA Galaxy's main rivals is the San Jose Earthquakes and that derby is called the California Clasico, so they named the LA derby El Trafico to differentiate it from the Cali Clasico and because of the horrendous traffic in LA.

Also, this match was played at the LA Coliseum, a 100 year old stadium, built originally as a memorial to WWI vets, has hosted 3 Olympic Games, and has been designated a National landmark. It’s also a neutral field, which works well for the derby.

The Coliseum has hosted TWO Olympics (1932, 1984) and WILL host a third (2028). The Rose Bowl has the soccer pedigree, however. Aside from World Cup Finals in 1994 and 1999, the venue also hosted the men's and women's soccer gold medal matches in 1984. Last I checked, the Rose Bowl was designated the primary venue for the 2028 women's competition, with the men at SoFi. (Plans subject to change!) Group stage matches spread around various California venues. Calling the Coliseum neutral when it is literally adjacent to LAFC's home ground is a bit of a stretch. But, technically correct since LAFC doesn't actually play there.

Rose Bowl was Galaxy’s home stadium from inception to 2002. That’s why it was such a big deal for the Gs to defend their historical home ground and why LAFeCes wanted to win so badly.

LAFC identity is plastic just like their fans. You had a fantastic club, the greatest in MLS, in your backyard for over 20 years and you chose to support the shiny new toy in town. And before you complain about Carson being too far from you, just know that I drove 4 hours from Fresno to get to this game and 4 hours back like I have been doing for over 20 years now. So there is absolutely no excuse you can make.

I have never miss any El Tráfico. Only game I missed was the 2019 game because I was in jail that day 😂 When I got out I check the highlights and was glad Galaxy won

You gotta react to the California Classico! The original California rivalry between San Jose Earthquakes and LA Galaxy, it has great history and true animosity. Games sell out a 40,000 seat stadium when they play at Stanford once a year.

Hey G. LA's #6 Riqui Puig last name is pronounced "Pooch". It threw us off because we had a baseball player for the Dodgers with the last name Puig. But his last name is pronounced the way it is spelled. Puig, Costa and Tyler Boyd won that game for LA.

"Pooj" is how I hear it and it's the Catalan pronunciation.
El trafico means "the traffic" referring to the mess it causes in the streets and highways around the stadium to get in and out before and after the game

La galaxy was the one with the drums. The previous el traffico the galaxy didnt have a supporter group during the protest. La galaxy loves their drums too dont get it twisted
The Rose Bowl is a legendary stadium. It's now over a century old (opened in 1922). The Galaxy played there for their first few seasons until their current ground was built. The Final of the 1994 World Cup (one of the worst ever) was played there.

The current coach Greg Vanney was on the original Galaxy squad that played there in 1996
I dont know if it played a direct role in how “El Trafico” got its name, but it may also be a nod to how in baseball when the Yankees and Mets play each other it’s referred to as “The Subway Series”. This also happened in St. Louis in the 1944 World Series when both St. Louis teams made the World Series and it was called “The Street Car Series”. And so since there is so much traffic in LA it’s “The Traffic Series”. Like I said I don’t know if this was intentional or if I’m stretching but it’s a possible parallel. Love the channel!

No the baseball matchups did not play a factor. LA is known for a a lot of traffic and El Classico is one of the best rivalries in the world.

LA Galaxy's main rivals is the San Jose Earthquakes and that derby is called the California Clasico, so they named the LA derby El Trafico to differentiate it from the Cali Clasico and because of the horrendous traffic in LA.

The freeway series (Angels vs Dodgers) might be what you are referring too but this got it's name because of football and Los Angeles.

It is also El Traffic due to the large Spanish speaking fan base. Los Angeles biggest ethnic group is Latinos :)
Also, this match was played at the LA Coliseum, a 100 year old stadium, built originally as a memorial to WWI vets, has hosted 3 Olympic Games, and has been designated a National landmark. It’s also a neutral field, which works well for the derby.

The Coliseum has hosted TWO Olympics (1932, 1984) and WILL host a third (2028). The Rose Bowl has the soccer pedigree, however. Aside from World Cup Finals in 1994 and 1999, the venue also hosted the men's and women's soccer gold medal matches in 1984. Last I checked, the Rose Bowl was designated the primary venue for the 2028 women's competition, with the men at SoFi. (Plans subject to change!) Group stage matches spread around various California venues. Calling the Coliseum neutral when it is literally adjacent to LAFC's home ground is a bit of a stretch. But, technically correct since LAFC doesn't actually play there.

Rose Bowl was Galaxy’s home stadium from inception to 2002. That’s why it was such a big deal for the Gs to defend their historical home ground and why LAFeCes wanted to win so badly.

LAFC identity is plastic just like their fans. You had a fantastic club, the greatest in MLS, in your backyard for over 20 years and you chose to support the shiny new toy in town. And before you complain about Carson being too far from you, just know that I drove 4 hours from Fresno to get to this game and 4 hours back like I have been doing for over 20 years now. So there is absolutely no excuse you can make.
