The frosty isn't a shake it's like ice cream so it's supposed to be consumed with a spoon.

Wendy's usually gives you both a spoon and straw when you order a frosty. It's so you can eat it with a spoon initially, and finish off with the straw. It melts pretty quick. 😊

I have never been given a straw with my frosty order. Always just a spoon. If you eat it fast enough, you won't need one.

When the frosty melts it basically turns into a milkshake so the straw is for that.

Wendy’s Frosty is soft ice cream eaten with a spoon, not a milk shake drunk with a straw. The beef patties are square while the buns are round so you can see the beef easier. Wendy’s first national TV add was a grandmother screaming, “Where’s the beef?”, while looking a a too small, all bun, burger from another fast food store.

They also used something like "we don't cut corners on our beef" which is why they kept them square rather than round.

I think what really makes Wendy's taste so go is they never freeze the meat, it's always fresh.

The Wendy’s patties are square because Dave Thomas marketed them as not cutting any corners even on the patties. It was a gimmick that has stuck around for almost 60 years. Even the sausage patties for breakfast are square.

As a former Wendy's grill cook, I can tell you that they are square in order to get more on the griddle. The bugers at Wendy's are cooked at a low temp and can stay on the griddle until they are needed and won't try out or get over cooked. That means that each burger is fresh when you order it.

I worked at Wendy's in the 80s when they had a salad bar and the chicken sandwiches were breaded and fried in house.

I worked at Wendy’s in the early 90s and by then, the chicken was already breaded. But we had the Super Bar.

I forgot about the salad bar! I also remember a pizza place where you could watch them make the pizzas and there was an arcade. It sucks that those places aren’t around anymore. At least they don’t have them in my area. They shut down all the roller rinks, mini golf(family fun center) and drive-ins too

McDonald’s cheese on their food is notorious for being unmelted. They’re supposed to be changing things this year, though. More, melty cheese, burgers grilled on a bed of onions and more Special Mac sauce on the Big Mac’s. Hope it’s as good as it sounds.

Crazy fact: I worked at Wendy’s back in the early-mid 90s when I was a teenager. One night, former boxing world champion Riddick Bowe walked in and ordered a triple cheeseburger. He had just lost to Evander Holyfield for the heavyweight title. As I made his burger to order, I was tempted to joke about his loss but decided I wasn’t going to FAFO. 😆

Unfortunately once you get out of cities the only thing you will find is a Mcdonalds. I've seen a few small towns that have a McDs and that's it. My town is 3200 on a major highway and all we have is a McD's, KFC, Pizza Hut, and a A&W.

Wendy's is my top fast food joint! I love it more than In-N-Out and Shake Shack combined. McDonald's and Burger King can get out of town.

@@ca8944 yep grew up in Bay Area then left to raise my daughter in Missouri then went back to Roseville (by Sac) for about 5 yrs to take care of my mom. I’m now back in Missouri cause my siblings put my mom in assisted living

Normally, I eat everything on the folk, not one thing at a time. But the initial taste at Thanksgiving, I eat a folk full of each thing to taste because I want to get the flavors of each dish but thenI always go back to a bit of everything on the folk.

Not liking the frosty because it's thick is weird lol. Square patties is for the tagline not cutting corners but was probably copied from Kewpee's like the frosty. That was one of Dave's fave spots.

When Wendy's first came out in the United States a lot of people made the same mistake, they tried to drink a frosty with a straw. When it comes to thanksgiving, I always like to have turkey and mash and gravy all in the same bite.

I take the turkey, mash, veggie and roll it in a piece of Lefse, add a bit of gravy(lefse is a Norwegian potato flat bread)

I love Wendy's. The chili is pretty good as well.

Honestly, the best food usually is in the "hood." Here in St. Louis, my friends and I have a theory. If there is bullet proof glass between you and the cashier, the food is about to be AMAZING! We also have a place here called Ted Drewes Frozen Custard (it's like a super thick ice cream) and they are known for being able to turn it upside down without it falling out. I think Jolly got confused with Dairy Queen on that part 😅

Personally I love Wendy's baked (jacket) potatoes. Only fast food place that I know of that has them. Much rather have those than fries or chips.

It depends, I know quite a few people who don't like to mix their food, when you could eat mashed potatoes, baby meatloaf(meatloaf burger patties) and corn together, they'd eat it all separate

Hi Kabir! I'm with you man. I have always eaten my meals by putting a little bit of meat, vegetable, starchy food and salad in my mouth at the same time. I hate going to a fancy restaurant that serves a multi course meal where you start with soup, then a salad, then meat, vegetable, and finally dessert. I understand the concept that you want each item to be enjoyed exactly as the chef prepared it, but I still like to mix mine up. The Baconator is the best item on Wendy's menu, hands down! I don't like American cheese! It's only 51% cheese to start with, the rest is vegetable oil, colouring and God knows what. It's why I don't like Philly Cheese Steak that much, nachos made with it or spray cheese.

Wendy's and McDonald's are very similar in price actually. Wendy's also has a ton of monthly coupons that they send in the mail, like buy one get one on burgers and nuggets.

I think reality when you get the shake, let it sit for a little bit and use a straw and get the defrosted ice cream on the bottom

No matter what meal I eat I will eat everything individually but at the same time. Does that make sense? A bite of chicken then potato, etc. My niece and nephew are just WEIRD, though! They might have three or more different foods on their plate yet will eat each food individually. So: they’ll eat all of their chicken before moving on to the potato, then onto something else, etc.

Where's the Beef?!? But why square? Well, Thomas borrowed this concept from a restaurant where he worked before Wendy’s. He liked that customers could see the beef patty and its quality ingredients. Plus, the square shape allowed him to fit more burgers on the grill at once, keeping the “fast” in fast food.

Usually at Thanksgiving or like a roast dinner, I tried to get a bit of everything in a bite.

Wendy's is my favorite burger place. Well except maybe 5 Guy's but they are much more expensive. Wendy's fries knock McDonald's fries for a loop. Wendy's fries are thicker so when they are deep-fried they stay soft inside whereas McDonald's get hard. And their chili... oh my goodness! I never go to Burger King, their food is horrendous. When I do get McDonald's food I get their fish sandwich. They aren't the best but they do have some flavor.

yes Kabir, a bit of everything for each bite. I go as far as putting aside my last bite to make sure the last one is properly balanced with each bit. Can I make an observation? Well gonna anyway, just constructive feedback...either turn your mic up or pause when you comment. This video already had everybody talking over each other and when you added to it, it was just noise and I couldn't hear most of what you said. I think this one should be a pause and comment. Other less noisy videos could certainly have your comments over the video but your mic needs to be just slightly higher than the background audio.

Wendys in my area, you are given a cup and you get your own soda from a soda machine, the only drink ,the employees get for you are the different lemonade flavors

I was named by the staff at a Wendy's. My parents couldn't agree on what to name me, my mother wanted to name me Michael (boring), my dad wanted to name me Doyle (hell yeah!), the Wendy's staff chose the name Justin after an actor from the soap opera Days of Our Lives, which I think is even worse than Michael. I wish I could have picked it, because I'd have picked Doyle.

Wendy's is in the same general price range as McDonald's if you compare similar-sized items (McD's cheeseburger to W's Junior, Quarter Pounder to Single, Double Quarter to Double, etc.) Although some items have no equivalent to compare to (e.g., McD's Big Mac, W's Chili). If you're comparing your best fried chicken in London to KFC, I sure hope KFC is a lot better in England than it is here. Because KFC is pretty low-tier fried chicken in my experience. Like, the average grocery store sells better fried chicken in their deli section, and that is not a high standard.

The problem with McDonald's is.. they've gotten so expensive for what they are. People go to McDonald's because its cheap and McDonald's, but they're charging like it's because people find their food amazing, when that isn't the case. McDonald's food is trash, but there are times you feel like trash food, but not expensive trash :( Wendy's is expensive, but they're definitely higher up.
