Bristol Harbour Railway - Alfred & Judy Visit - Sunday 15th September
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
A rare opportunity presented itself over the weekend of the 14th/15th September. Former Par shunters 'Judy' and 'Alfred' made a stop off at the Bristol Harbour Railway on their way back to their home at Bodmin. This quick visit would be a rare opportunity to see the twins in a harbour setting, a setting in which they were no stranger to back in the days of steam. Aside from running passenger trains over the weekend, the twins also took part in a photo charter, which involved the locos shunting wagons on the harbourside, as well as running in parallel along the front. Locos featured are:-
|Bagnall 0-4-0ST No 2572 'Judy'
|Bagnall 0-4-0ST No 3058 'Alfred'
|Avonside 0-6-0ST No 1764 'Portbury'

Bill and Ben loved being photographed. They took the visitors to the China clay works in a brake van special
Seeing them coupled to a toad brakevan really puts their size in perspective.

It looks like oliver felt very ill and cant move, so bill and ben have to took over oliver's goods with toad at brendam ducks but toad was coupled in front made by the twins
Seeing these two, made me realize at least how big Thomas and Percy is... not to mention how enormous Henry, Gordon, Murdoch will be
4:36 6:51Whistles if you wanna know.

let's hope Alfred and Judy are more well behaved than Bill and Ben

I think Alfred would be the more excitable of them and Judy would be more sensible, as Alfred is the younger of them. Judy would probably put Alfred back in his place... That grey saddle tank looks like I imagine Percy looked during the war...
love how the 2 kids at the beginning are more concerned with their phones than the steamers! It is like that is something they see everyday!

Great capture. Nice to see the two Par engines working on a dock line again. Nice to see Portbury back too, despite what sounds like leaking Gasket. ;-P Nice to see Balmoral in port too. Great vid. J
Nice to see the twins in Bristol, I hope they return soon
Excellent!
Bill and Ben
It's bill and ben
Those are the most squat 0-4-0 saddletank locos I have ever seen.

You should see Peckett no. 1900, aka the Flying Bufferbeam. That engine is as small as you can get.

There is a reason for the squatishness.
Nice editing. I've never seen that line in action, the last time I was there it was closed for Improvements.

Does anyone know how fast these engines can go?
Fun fact Alfred and Judy that you see are bill and Bens Real identities or engines Also portbury is over 100 (:
Portbury does seem to have a bit of a squeak.
some super shots there, am I right in saying they the the two smallest standard gauge locomotives ever built because the look somewhat familiar?

No. The smallest standard gauge locomotive in the world is a tank engine that looks like Alfred and Judy but is a lot more squat and has no cab. The railway enthusiasts call it the Flying Buffer Beam
Its percy the small engine and ben and bill
the quads
So where do Alfred and Judy now work at?
I believe Henbury's ticket runs out in July 2014.
That is an old crane at 6:49.
