On an early Monday morning (and now we can say well before the Aussie COVID-19 outbreak & lockdown), I got arguably the biggest surprise of my life. For two years now, I have made it a mission to try and find this big blue beast and hunt it down capturing it on a hardwaste service anywhere across Brisbane. Two weeks beforehand, we got our usual brochure in the mail to let us know that our yearly kerbside collection around our area was coming up to be due in a fortnight (week commencing Mon 24th February 2020). The afternoon of Sunday the 23rd had come around, we had just finished tidying up in our garage and garden shed (that were full of hoarded old items of no use anymore) and put all our stuff out on the footpath. Little did I know that the next morning I would wake up to a loud noisy truck however with three lovely nice blokes stopped to have a quick breakfast break right outside my home!! Still, gratefully something different for once a year other than the standard weekly side loader that pulls up into the street to empty the wheelie bins. I went up to them and they gave me the all clear for filming, so I thanked them very much for letting me film and allowing me to also post it on KZread.
I believe that I am the first person to film the current fleet of Brissy kerbside trucks, because apart from that most noticeably you can check out the following links below of what others managed to grab of this fleet and also the previous old contract.
•The current fleet - commenced either late 2011 or early 2012 to present:

I really hope you have enjoyed a production that's a little bit different to normal style, thankyou all so much for watching. If you appreciate my work, please let me know by leaving a like and commenting down below. If you want to see more garbage truck videos coming like this soon in the near future, make sure that you have subscribed to my channel with post notifications turned on!
Cheers & regards, BrissyGarbo19.

Great video. Finally a long video here on KZread of Brisbane Bulkwaste. Looks like Brisbane maintains their trucks quite well, you really don’t see that these are over 7 years old now. Scheduled bulk waste is how it should be done everywhere, on one specific day the tuck collects from all houses, not this on call crap where the truck have to drive all over the suburbs to collect from a few houses in each of them, sure it may before more comfortable for the residents, but in the end, it’s a huge waste of fuel and time. How many trucks do they currently have? Bummer the blade is so slow when going up, especially when you compare it with the trucks of the same model WM runs down in Melbourne. I don’t know what i should think of the Fuso cab, i haven’t had a chance to try them, but their reputation speaks for itself. A Acco or Econic would be superior, i hope they rethink their chassis choice when buying a new fleet. As for the body, it’s the best thing you can get in Australia for bulk collection. A Urbin may be better for residential and commercial, but for the heavy industrial work and bulk waste, this is the way to go. Luckily, Superior Pak decided to keep producing the Phoenix after buying Compaction Systems and not discontinuing it unlike other great products Compaction System had (cough cough Sidepak).

Could not have said that whole one long big paragraph any better myself, I appreciate the time you have taken to write a detailed comment showing your interest & passion. :D :D No idea exactly how many trucks we have, legend has it that we might have eight of them doing like this kind of regularly year long cleanups on hard waste and two for metal and steel recycling, but the guys did however tell me that apparently it's somewhere in Salisbury perhaps close to the suez residential waste contract depot yard over in Rocklea on Ipswich Rd?? And maybe the reason the blade is slow when going up now is because it's been used for the whole 7 years straight every single week day from Mon-Fri of the year (excl. public holidays) so now it's finally start to show that soon it'll be near the end of it's life? But yes, you are right Brisbane does a magnificent job of keeping their trucks in waste contracts well looked after, same thing happened a few years ago now with Suez Brisbane trucks at end of contract vs Suez Sydney trucks at end of contract, after both and just how well both fleets of trucks were looked after, Brisbane definitely by far won, who hoo yeah QLD all the way!!! :D

The body is familiar to us in the UK - its basically a Dennis-Eagle Phoenix, although there are a few detail differences with this Aussie built version to the British original.

The old ones are noisy like the new ones but sounds slightly different than the new ones, that’s one way how I can tell if it’s an old truck for our collection day, we don’t always get the old ones but if I’m lucky next collection day or the one after we might get one of the old ones,

TheDLBoy yeah I know. Pretty wasteful aye. Like with pretty much any kerbside collection you get items and materials that could have still either been used, or donated into the tip shop second-hand, not much we can do about it though once it’s been discarded and tossed away.
