Woke up this morning, shot ourselves a pod....Welcome back to another episode of Not Today, Pal. This week, Rob and Jamie are joined by arguably the biggest and most important guest (and possibly even person in both their lives), Mr. David Chase, creator of The Sopranos! Fresh off a premiere of a new documentary "Wise Guy: David Chase and the Sopranos" which debuted at the Tribeca film festival, David sits down to talk to Rob and Jamie about the show and it's importance even after these years. While revisiting the show, the trio talk about first auditions, fan rumors/theories about the show, the late great Tony Sirico, memorable plot points, the intimacy of killing off characters, and much more!

This is maybe one of the, if not the best David Chase interview I’ve ever watched. He’s more comfortable, and open with these two than I’ve maybe ever seen him. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I love how he turns his head and closes his eyes to access his memories
It's great to see David Chase open up here. When I see him interviewed he's usually very reserved and doesn't say much. I guess the comfort level he has with Robert Iler and Jamie-Lynn Sigler helps. Great interview!
This episode was INCREDIBLE. The dynamics and the conversations between you two and David was simply perfection. I could not have loved this anymore.
When Rob said he feels a "come down" when they all leave... I feel that after every film I work on. I know that some people I was on set with won't be there the next time and it's a pain felt in the soul. It choked me up to hear it vocalized because I know all of you were so close. Great episode, everyone. Thank you.
I feel like Robert is very slowly on his way to become one of the most thoughtful and intelligent people the world has ever known

Have to rewatch the show again now. For the umpteenth time. That scene outside the police station with aj and tiny really is excellent. Heavy stuff. “It’s not in your nature”.
Great interview. Never seen Chase so comfortable. And I’ve watched a lot of David Chase interviews lol.
Usually I listen to podcasts in the background, but this one got my full undivided attention. I couldn’t have asked for a better episode, thank you! 🙌
Such a beautiful interview! Thank you guys so much
David with the Napoli Scudetto t-shirt 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
I love that the meaning of the ending will die with him. Awesome.
Love seeing this perspective of the sopranos!
Loved this, watch from start to finish.
This was not only a great interview in general, it was also great to see Chase as a down to earth fellow, with great responses to great questions. I think both of the Sopranos kids brought immense dimensions to the show, I mean imagine the show without them, all the cultural and social aspects their characters brought to the show. Btw, what documentary are they talking about??
Love love love this podcast. Huge fan of Sopranos and the 2 of you. Made my morning.

Hello from Montréal!! Good job Robert and Jamie-lynn You guys are the BEST 😀
I watched The Sopranos for the first time last year age 31 born in 92, I absolutely loved it and was blown away with how funny the show was! Unbelievable watch.
Thank you both for sharing this conversation. It was amazing!
I feel like this is the first time I have ever seen David Chase dress in a way that makes sense for his personality.
"whadda ya gonna do"!!!!! Awesome episode for us Soprano freaks! Much love Meadow and AJ!!
David Chase is a Genius In Television Creation. The Sopranos is Television Perfection. Love Your Podcasts!!! This Was a Great One!!! ❤. You Two are So Good Together!!!
Great episode, thanks!
Love this! 🙌
Wow, it is great so see you two with David Chase and it‘s a great and really interesting interview. Very good questions.

Awsome. Lots of love ❤
David was more candid than usual and really tried to put jamie and rob over, big time.
Drinking game: take a drink every time David Chase smacks his lips.
Good show guys
Great questions!!
wow I may have watched the show a good 7 times and just now realizing what the line from atrie to benny meant when he says the shit about the martini lol
The one behind it all, David Chase!!
Sopranos spinoff featuring AJ and Meadow all grown up; Meadow working in the entertainment industry as TV producer and AJ in and out of rehabs and jail as he struggles with addiction. This would ultimately explain what happened to Tony. The family mob ties could be on the periphery as these characters navigate their adult lives until they are forced into scenarios where they need to lean on their family connections. I'd watch! make it happen David Chase!

Great interview. You can tell David really likes these people.

The Don himself. Legend🙏
Love David Chase
The best Rockford Files episodes were written by Chase. And what I didn't realise till just now - he was with Northern Exposure too!
Great interview had to be life changing to work together.
David Chase on set, freaking awesome!
This was a wonderful episode. I hang on every word that Mr. Chase says in every interview, just hoping that I learn something that I didn't know before. I am watching the series for the 11th time. Many of those times, I have focused on the performance of one specific character. When I focused on Tony Sirico, I was blown away by his brilliance in that role. Maybe it was because, as Robert pointed out, not much of a stretch from Mr. Sirico's reality.

That would be awesome because it would open up more sopranos lore because Joey actually got the role of pussies cousin who had to deal with Phil’s car seat but he blabbed and told someone and he got fired for it also he was in MSON
I never understood the hate for AJ either. I loved AJ. He was a young child trying to make sense of the world and live behind the Soprano name
@collinsmcrae
14 күн бұрын
It’s really just a matter of bad acting. Most kids can’t act. For me, it was distracting and obnoxious any time they turned up, but only because the rest of the cast was so good and convincing. It’s not their fault, but they were just the worst actors in the cast. Everyone else were veterans and real pros.
I watch YMH Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

I'd heard a long time ago from John Fiori himself on a subsequent show that dying on the toilet on "Sopranos" was the best thing that could've happened to him, because he got a huge amount of personal notoriety from that scene.
